yea corned beef or pastrami on rye with deli mustard is so fucking good, but you gotta go to one of those places that serves it warm and fresh so it's almost falling apart.
I miss food![]()

Lmfao.
I threw in a few sets of deadlifts for the first time to see what you guys were all hard about. My back was really sore todayShoulders a little bit too, but not shabby.
And yes, I did them correctly... I suppose I'll have to make them a part of my weekly regiment.
Good...good. Another deadlift convert. SO WET AND HARD FOR THEM DEADLIFTS.
HARD was for the guys!
And speaking of deadlifts, I've been able to increase my weight despite lack of grip! Now I can deadlift 135 lb 5x5 woooooo. And I can also squat 135 lbs now. weee. I'm so happy.
I've started doing Romanian Deadlifts today, and while I didn't feel it then, I feel it now. My squat definitely got its ownage today. Since I started using the ball to work the adjudicators my squat went from 20x70lbs to 10x50lbs. But the strength growth from changing it up has been insane, and was definitely worth looking like a weakling.
@sephir - AWESOMEKeep it up
Versagrips are a lot of money yeah?
I've been trying to do some forearm strength stuff like farmer's walk and just holding plates for 20-35 seconds. Don't know if they actually help any, or if I'm doing it right, even. I just feel stupid walking around with dumbbells for my farmer's walk... hahaha.
And thank you.![]()
I am curious as to what other supplements you guys use? In addition to Gatorade, I take multivitamin, fish oil, protein, cretin, glucosamine (for joints), and beta alanine (muscle recovery) on a daily basis. I am training for triathlon and marathon so I am trying to get the most from my dietary supplements.
Whey, fish oil, bcaa's, a multivitamin and an eca stack. pretty basic shit, i should add some more vitamin c in there but i never get around to buying it.
i take
-multi-vitamin (something without iron, you don't need iron supplements unless you have anemia or incredibly heavy periods)
-fish oil (the most expensive supp I take, since I take triple strength fish oils to get 1800mgs of omega 3s a day without having to take 6 capsules)
-chewable vitamin c for general immune system/connective tissue/etc (granted my Multi vitamin already has it, but vitamin C is water soluble so excess just gets peed out
-Green tea extract (while cutting)
-Glutamine (while cutting)
-Creatine (while bulking)
Sometimes I'll take an NO2 supplement in lieu of my morning coffee on the days I lift, but I'm pretty sure the only benefit I'm getting from it is the massive amount of caffeine in it.
Other than that just whey/casein, pretty basic stuff as well.
Granted the only thing I "need" to take (or at least the only thing I think has any proven tangible benefit) is the multi vitamin and fish oil. Everything else falls into the category of "relatively cheap and relatively harmless, so why not?"
I take multivitamin with iron (vegetarian and all..plus I'm a girl) and CLA... Although CLA I don't really need anymore, and I don't really believe it does much, but I still take it anyway. Obviously whey... and I usually have ground flaxseed meal or omega-3 fortified eggs. Apparently chia seeds have more omega 3/6 than flaxseed...I may have to try it. I don't have flaxseed as regularly now that I only eat cereal on extremely rare occasions.
I just decided to research all of the supplements you guys listed...blows my mind that pretty much every single one mentions possible negative side effects with diabetes lol. This shit just gets more and more annoying. Couldn't believe I stumbled across "info" that fish oil can screw with glucose levels, gotta be kidding me. But in the same breath they say diabetics should take more than average people because of proneness to heart disease. Are we really prone though, or is it just because most of the "diabetics" are fat fucks that screwed up their body's ability to use insulin...blah.
I need to find a doctor that is like a nutritionist-endocrinologist-fitness guru all in one. Would make this so much easier.
I just started taking creatine and got some casein for night time...guess we'll see how it goes, jury is still out on the creatine. Its is so cheap though.
(why the hell is spell checker telling me creatine is spelled wrong, blows my mind how many words it omits)
fish oil isnt really a fitness supplement not like lets say creatine is. essential fats are just that, imo they're as necessary to every day life as a multivitamin or vitamin c
Technically speaking creatine is food-derived as well, it's present in all meat/fish, just in smaller quantities. To me at least, it feels like creatine is more like multi-vs and fish oil than things like NO2 and all that.
If you can't take fish oil I'd definitely take flax oil if there's any difference for your glucose levels. Still, I can't imagine either of them being that bad for you, it's not like a doctor is going to ever tell someone with diabetes they should eat LESS salmon lol.
Well omega 3\6s lower your insulin right? i think all fats do?
Yea, seems kinda meh and I question its legitimacy anyways, just kinda like "really, are you kidding me with this shit," fish oil was the one thing I already take and figured there was no way it would be like glucosamine and glutamine's alleged effects on glucose levels.
Seems like the general consensus is fish oil > flax?
And damn Wei, still doing the vegetarian thing eh? Can't truly be primal until you are tearing into some glorious, juicy steak!
yah, fish oil is easier absorbed than flax
