Or so they email I received about an hour ago says. The person who claims to have hacked it sent all of the members private messages stating that they'll disclose the contents of private messages online unless they're paid a ransom of $10,000. It's pretty hilarious either way. Here's a copy of the email.

somebody called gamemonarchLLC cracked EGS read pm script and made it not secure. lolz pwned!! all PMS stolen and downloaded. if u want them not published on internet send us $10000USD at Portal of Russian Hackers

They're placing blame on one of the forum members there although it could easily just be some steaming coverup cause they don't really know. lulz etc.

Apologies for what just happened there. Seems someone (Bassline) paid a Russian hacker to try and hack the site. Unfortunately it didn't quite work...used an exploit and stole everyone's PMs.

So anyway everyone please if you had any of your MMORPG account information in your PM inbox, change that login info as well.

Sorry guys...we seem to have made a lot of enemies in this business delivering the safest and elite services. We'll continue to be the number one service provider and we'll make sure that this doesn't happen again or anything like it.

There no conclusive evidence that whoever claims to have hacked the site is indeed that EGS forum member, it's just an assumption based on what the posts say. Could have easily been done that way to cause confusion or for EGS to cover up something.

I saw Baselines little emo thread he posted this morning about holding the information for every account sale ever conducted on EGS for ransom. Personally I think Baseline is a moron thinking that by getting all of those accounts banned that it will accomplish anything.
