Providing that information will most likely get it locked or banned like you said. But in some cases, depending on the mood your SE rep is in you can completely bullshit excuses and provide minimal information and quite possibly get the password changed depending on what the minimal information you give them is.

You have to match a lot of other information for that to work. If the people who bought the account bother changing it, then that will never work. The best you can do in those cases is get a notary form or possibly get it banned.

Can you go into details about this civil court thing? Only time I've heard about RMT going to trial is when MMO companies tried to sue IGE or some other company.

Nintendo sued Camerica Ltd for their making of the Game Genie. Claimed it altered the way in which the game was ment to be viewed and/or played. If I recall, after a two year battle with Nintendo, Camerica Ltd won, but lost tons of money.

Now view this with Windower, FFXI App, other 3rd party applications..Also think about RMT sites, they alter the way that you make ingame currency.

In addition to that, they also sell someone else property without sharing royalties, much like someone who rents a movie and while they have it turns around and rents it out to other people. As the item is in your possession, its still not your to turn a profit with.

The problem with combating RMT on a legal front is that their operations are broken up over several countries and many of those areas couldn't care less about US law or civil court cases.

Didn't Blizzard or SE try to sue IGE for this, but lost due to a very retarded loophole? Then again I guess if they target the account/currency sellers instead of the company that could possibly work.

Never really read this thread, so don't know if it's been pointed out, but why do you refer to yourself in first person to try and hide who you are? Because when you were in our LS you claimed to be Bass. My appologies in advance if it's already been mentioned.

I was kind of hoping that this comment would have bloomed into something interesting.
