    Ur doin it wrong:

You can have an adult chocobo ready to ride at day 29, but I'd say day 64 is a more reasonable endpoint for finishing a chocobo (as this is when stat boosts from chocobo care plans finish up). It only takes a few minutes a day to raise a reasonably good chocobo that can earn chocobucks (but quite a bit more time and gil, if you want one with capped stats).

The length of time it will take to earn a jacket could vary greatly. We don't know if the jackets are going to be a hundred chocobucks, or a thousand (but no more than a thousand unless they make some changes, as that is the maximum you can hold at once). I used to earn about 20-30 a day, back when I was still doing them regularly. There's no cap on the number of chocobucks you can earn in a sitting, but the more you grind in a day, the more expensive it gets.
Agreed, my bird got capped out in stats around day 70~75ish, so it takes about 2 months to make a bird capable of consistently winning.

Also, pullus torque is the greatest "useless" item in the whole game. Being able to run around whitegate as a foot tall baby chocobo is just awesome. Experience has taught me that the average person has a powerful subconscious need to punt baby chocobos.

Im guessing either each individual piece will be 100~150 each, or theyll sell it to you as a full set for about 500~600 chocobucks.

Maybe less if the effects are useless. If its something like movement speed should take about 3-4 hours roughly of solid racing to get a full set. (pending you have a half decent bird)

On another note, how about that whole "fish that have been known to swallow whole pieces of armor" stuff? Possibly some new pieces of gear only obtainable via fishing? Wonder if itll be on par with merc kris...

There are alot of "useless" legendary fish, maybe the new gear might be from gutting those.

If they are remotely good, Fishing just got another big thumbs up from SE. That's in addition to the MMM Fishing Voucher as well... if that turns out to be something worth doing.

The black chocojockey set is a lot more... "flattering" on a garka.

So now for the all important question, if you guys gotta choose one of the sets, which you gonna get?

I think its a toss up between red and black for me, though blue is pretty cool as well.

Remeber, WOW came out 2.5yrs later - which technologically speaking - is a massive difference.

I remember when it was up for debate whether SE would drop XI for a new game OR give it a major overhaul and ditch PS2 support. I believe if they had done this, and made the game shiny but in every other way identical to how it is now, numbers would be MUCH higher than they are. Ultimately, for a PS2 game, FFXI is doing spectacularly well.

Its also server dependant - not all servers are that bad, I cant remember the numbers but I think the recent vana census looked like numbers where fairly stable. I dont think there are THAT fewer players, but maybe average login time is lower now? More people just hopping on for events etc.

I never did understand why people come onto the forum after they quit. Never mind the ones that come on and preach about how much the game sucks.

go somewhere else, hell make a forum called "FFXI SUCKS< SE BLOWS AT UPDATES AND THE GAME SHOULD JUST DIE, ALSO I QUIT AND NONE OF THIS EFFECTS ME IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM" then cry on that forum

Notes were kinda meh. They should do that Necropolis update in the present so I don't need to drag a friend to open gates for me when I coffer hunt.

Also Chocobo: Movement Speed + or bust for me in terms of racing.

Second account? When I was doing... something or other in Eldieme, can't remember what, I just brought my Jeuno mule (level 4 Tarutaru Monk) down there. A couple Silent Oils and half a brain are all that's necessary to make it to the switch and unless you take 20 minutes to switch characters, no one is likely to stop by and reset the gates. If you don't have a mule, well... does anyone not have a mule these days?

Heh, lucky. I don't have the money/room for another PC and account... And I don't want to have another wire dragging across my room just to hook it up to my PS2.

Anyway I got my old gauntlets today for RDM and since all I have left after RDM is THF I never have to step foot in there again, but geesh that place is such a pain.
