FFXIV "Campaign Code" for a Beta?

and you expect them to eventually utilize stress tests.... how? I do see your point, it's just not a very good one. Being a part of past Beta testing with various other games, I'd expect that if this code was included in FFXIII, this would be your source for closed beta on top of little other promotions (Magazines, popular gaming site key giveaways, ect). Open beta will probably be added on to people who have pre ordered the game.

It is interesting though to have this only be for the JP community if this is true. Would this mean that closed beta would be JP exclusive? That's kind of a let down.

Edit: Also, it was stated that the campaign code would be limited so, your argument on millions of beta keys being sold and that being a problem is false.

Most people will check other threads in the same forum to see if the info has already been posted before they post it themselves.

Yes. Smal focuse group /=/ closed beta. I was referring to open beta on the stress tests anyway. If you're going to plan on making a stress test eventually happen, why are you going to be picky in who you let into beta testing? It would not make sense. Plus, this is a big name... why not give away a significant amount of keys? If you want your launch to be successful I don't see how giving away a tiny amount of keys would be proportional to the success of your launch.

Edit: This is why we are taught history. Think back to all the games that didn't last because of how they handled their beta testing. I'm just saying, if SE is smart they wouldn't being fucking nit picky and treat testing like it would be a launch. Too many MMOs have launch issues that many people cannot tolerate. Therefor, the game goes under. Thousands or even hundreds of thousands of testers are better than a small focus group.

Nothing about that being for a beta.

Previous Campaign Codes got you figures and shit like that.

This is why I didn't give it a brand new thread.

The actual magazine says that a "Campaign Code" will come with early copies of FFXIII. It seems like every site on the planet has jumped the gun to assume it will give a definitive slot in the beta.

Tanaka has expressed interest in bringing a developer version to Japanese players like the one they showcased at Gamescom. So, while there is some reason to believe the code may get you into a beta or focus group of some sort, it could also turn out to be a mousepad.

As of now, there is no information as to what this code may be redeemed for.
