Anyone else think rank games forcing DMR starts are fucking retarded? Sick of losing to kids I outplay who ignore bloom, spam, and get lucky.

Someone did that shit to me in Invasion too, lol'd hard. They still lost too.

If it makes you feel any better, took me over 20 minutes to get it. The trigger is fucking awful, not sure why.
Edit:
Better than being stuck with a AR spawn and getting spawnraped repeatedly. They improved the AR a lot but it still can't compare at all to the DMR.
A) Thanks.
B) Standbying?
C) tried for 15 mins with no luck for the assassination one, despite multiple successes (although one was on a grunt)
You spawn with a Pistol, which is now excellent. More skilled then the DMR (same damage, smaller clip, more bloom, less zoom). If you want the better weapon, pick it up. It's fucking ridiculous how often I go into a game and lose because people get lucky. I still win the game, but with half the spread I'd have if we all spawned normally. It takes significantly more skill, and should be used for ranked games.Better than being stuck with a AR spawn and getting spawnraped repeatedly. They improved the AR a lot but it still can't compare at all to the DMR.
Host of the game repeatedly standbys (turns on/off basically) their router/modem/whatever to cause the game to be impossibly laggy so you can't do shit, but they can still run around and rape you pretty freely. A bit in to Halo 2s life it was extremely common to run across, but they managed to fix it eventually. Didn't happen again in Halo 3, but seems to be back now for whatever reason.
At close-mid range, pistol is better. Go further than that and if both players are at on an even skill level the DMR is pretty much always gonna come out on top. The firing rate on the pistol just can't match the DMR. It'd certainly be possible to defend yourself in a spawnrape situation with the pistol, but chances are you're still gonna suffer from it. DMR starts are fine. The times where luck saves their ass when they rapid fire shouldn't pose any threat to the game if you really are better than the other player(s).
Haven't had too many problems with that, more just generic lag, plus for whatever reason when I go through a lift/man cannon it seems to fuck up and like cycle back or something. Idk if that makes sense but like if from lift to destination is a->b->c->d I would see abcbcd for example instead of abcd.
Yeah, I see that with other players a lot in Invasion and Big Team. Haven't had it happen from my perspective at all though.
Sidenote: Invasion Slayer is the worst fucking thing. They really need to split Invasion and Invasion Slayer in to 2 separate playlists. Invasion is damn fun (I was always a skirmish/objective junkie) but Invasion Slayer is fucking terrible and drags on way too long.
I heard that SWAT was gonna be made into its own playlist, but it was secondhand from a friend of mine so idk
Once again, its not causing me to lose..just do worse then I should. It's aggravating for ranked games, which should (in theory) require the most skill, especially in "pro" games. If you're going to disable weapon pickups, sure, start everyone with DMR/Pistol or NR/Pistol. But they don't, even in "pro" games, so what's the point? Reward people for staying alive longer then a few seconds if you're trying to test for skill =/
I haven't got standby'd yet. That was one of the reasons I stopped playing 2 online for awhile, though.
I love the pistol, I just wish it had a bigger clip. That is why I prefer the DMR. In a firefight where you are chasing someone who is trying to get away especially, yet still firing at you. (Or just in a fight where someone keeps hiding then popping out quickly.) Spending the 3 seconds to reload can fuck you hard.
Ive pretty much got the assassination ordeal down to a science, at one point I got 22 in a row, still no achievement, another friend, took him 85 kills doing it properly before it unlocked, lol. Feels good man, I'll get this shit eventually.
Is there some hack that lets you sprint even in a classic game-type? Just got done with a 1 flag classic, so no loadouts or sprint gauge, and there were like 4 people sprinting all over the place, one with the sword, which was annoying. Am I missing something obvious?
There are already aimbots and shit in the game (see the vid I posted a few pages back), so I wouldn't be surprised if there are others.
I think you just have to pick a loadout or something. I always end up having sprint in classic and I certainly aren't modding or anything.
Pick where though? I have no option to choose at anytime in classic, not pre-round, not while respawning, nothing. I didn't think it was a mod, but I feel so stupid lol.
Strange, I have noticed the same thing though. But at some point in the game I end up having it when I respawn. Thinking back I don't know if I hit X and select a loadout on spawn or what. Maybe there's some retarded trigger for it like X amount of deaths.
On a sidenote, armour abilities really suck in objectives. It's way too easy to defend in assault now. If they plant the bomb you can literally just stand on it and armour lock for an easy disarm. Territories is bubble shield galore, you can't place them in the territory but you can stand one step out of the territory, drop it then walk back in to the shield. Oddball is bubble spam too, it's retarded. They're a cool feature in slayer and a couple of other gametypes like headhunter, but some of them break the game in half.
I think there's just a glitch with sprint not showing up for random players sometimes in classic games. I've mostly been playing splitscreen, and there's been times where I had sprint, but it was just missing for my friend (no ability icon, pressing lb does nothing) and vice versa.
I've also randomly seen those glowing ability icons (the ones you pick up in campaign to swap abilities) trailing behind players in multiplayer, not sure what's up with that.
I haven't played any Objective Classic games, but at least in Slayer Classic you spawn with Sprint (you don't pick a loadout, but you still have it).
i sucked horribly at the timing for this. spend probably 30-40 minutes jumping off that damn cliff before i finally got an assassination. got the achiev first time it connected. only thing i can say is to stop sprinting at the apex of your jump. you don't need to hold it it, press armor button to start, jump, then press it again to stop sprinting.
