    questions related to vydia!

K let's see if i remember all of them:

1- What's the best and most economic headphone i can get and that can be used for ps3 AND xbox360? I'm fine if the first two criteria are met and there exists no headphones for both ps3 and xbox. And by headphone i also mean the ones with the mics.

2- Are the generic cheap ps3 controllers worth buying? These controllers are expensive as shit and i'd like to save as much as i can.

3- Is Gamefly a decent way to rent games? Like pros and cons, if you will. I hate driving and everything is so fucking far apart from eachother on this fucking island, seriously fuck that. Somewhat related, is netflix also a decent service?

    Thanks in advance!

    1. Can't help too much with this one, I use the headset that came with my Elite, and my regular motorolla blutooth headset for PS3.

    2. I hate knock off PS3 controllers you are better off spending more for the actual Sony ones.

    3. GameFly is great for renting and trying out games without having to commit to a purchase, only real downside is you will hardly get the hot new release on release date or the week of even. So if you are ok waiting a week or more for big titles then you will like it.

2 - From my experience 3rd party controllers for the PS3 suck. I've only tried Logitech and Logic ones (maybe Madcatz is better? Doubt it...) and they've either broken or just feel weird. I'd stick to official unless anyone can recommend something specific.

    1. PS3 takes almost any headphone, wired or bluetooth as long as it can sync to it, I have the official one which came with Socom, and it is awesome, added perk of the official one is it has a HQ mode and on-screen indicators.

    2. Avoid them, and avoid regular sixaxis controllers. Deals for DS3 come and go, jump for it when it comes around, I have posted quite a few. Black Friday is soon anyway.

    3. I've been a gamefly customer for about a year. They are very good tbh, most of the gripes people have with them aren't their fault (It's the USPS), they have an on-going legal suit against USPS for unfair treatment. However I'm unsure how fast it'll be for you from PR, all 3 of their shipping centers are on the US mainland. Generally, the closer you are to a shipping center, the faster you'll get the games. I get mine within 2 days, and they usually take 2-3 days to receive them. They have a free trial too iirc, so you can give them a try. Had no trouble with games, but then again I've only gotten PS3 games from them, and blu-rays are a lot harder to damage through scratching than regular DVD's.

Netflix is probably one of the best, they receive stuff the next day and ship it out, so usually takes 2 days at most to get your next movie. Plus with PS3/360 you have the unlimited streaming if you get the $8.99 a month or higher plan. Personally I would recommend the $8.99 1 DVD plan +$1 (so $9.99) for the Blu-ray access. They also offer a free trial.

Totally missed the second part of your third question, Netflix is the shit, have had them for a long time now and have always been taken care of.

1- Does this mean that i should buy the headphone specifically for xbox360 because it will work for ps3? Does wireless headphons work for xbox360 and which should i get?

    2-When is black friday?

3- How does gamefly work? Do you pay per game you rent as opposed to a monthly payment? How long do you keep the games, and how do you return the games after you received them?

As for netflix, it seems to be like pay per rent is better, because what happens if i don't rent anything in a month? Do they stream the movie into your pc/xbox/ps3 or do they send you cds like gamefly?

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving.

With gamefly you pay a monthly fee (Price depends on how many games you want to have out at the same time) Lets say you have a 2 game plan, then you pick from all of there games and put them in a que on their website in the order you would like them sent to you. They will send the first two available on your list, you can choose to keeps those games for as long as you like or return them when your done or if you don't like them, when they receive one or both of your games back they will ship you the next one or two on your que. Keep them as long or as short as you like, can rent as many as possible in a month and you still pay that same monthly fee.

Netflix works the same way except you can also stream certain movies/shows directly to your PS3/Xbox/PC, Netflix is a little cheaper cause its dvd's vs games and there turnaround is faster.

    1. An Xbox 360 headset most probably won't work on PS3, I don't know which will work for 360 as I don't have one, but a good amount of bluetooth headsets work with PS3 as well as wired.

    2. Black Friday (shopping) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    3. $15.95 (if i remember right) for 1 game out, like $22 for 2 games out. Monthly payment, you can keep the games as long as you want. How it works is you have a queue of games you choose with the one you want the most at the highest point, and when they receive the game you sent back, they will ship out the next one on your list that is available the quickest, won't always be the first on your queue (unless it is the only one in your queue, which a lot of people do).

As an example I'll show mine:

Netflix has a queue system also, so you don't have to go on to it every time you want to rent a movie. The unlimited streaming is free, and it can be anything they have available.

Hands-on: Netflix on PS3 Watch that video to have a look at how the streaming works.

Wow, that sounds heavenly. But what do you do when you want to stop renting games/movies and you don't think you will for a while. Is cancelling your monthly payment easy? How do you do it? Also, how much is the gamefly monthly payment?

You can cancel at anytime, there is no contract, but they have to receive any games you have rented out back within I think 30 days, or they'll charge your card for the purchase of the game.

So 15.95 you pay for a single game rent with gamefly or you can choose to pay monthly. How long do you keep it if you pay per game as opposed to a regular monthly payment. And, idon't think this has been answered but, how do you return it when you're done?

No, it's all monthly payment, there is no pay-per-game plan for gamefly. $15.95 is for 1 game out, $22.95 is for 2 games out

Cancelling and restarting your subscription is pretty easy I have done it a few times, (with Gamefly never Netflix <3) there is a tab under My Account on their website just click it and confirm your info and cancel it, then next time you want to start it log in as usual and it will have a box that says "Reactivate Subscription" (or something close to that) For Gamefly I have the two game plan it's $22.95 a month, and for Netflix I have the 3 Movie plan + Blu-Rays and it is $19.99 a month. Pretty sure you can get a free trial of both to check it out.

I'll just copy and paste from gamefly plan page:

GameFly offers four different membership plans for your convenience:

2-Game Plan (our most popular plan) - Two games out at a time $22.95/month + applicable tax

1-Game Plan - One game out at a time $15.95/month + applicable tax

3-Game Plan (requires an active account in good standing for at least 60 days) - Three games out at a time $29.95/month + applicable tax

4-Game Plan (requires an active account in good standing for at least 60 days) - Four games out at a time $36.95/month + applicable tax

Opposite for me, <3 the gamefly bonuses you get for staying a member, I'm at 10% discount on purchases and get a $5 coupon every 3 months with free shipping on all purchases. Pretty decent really.

So far i'm really liking this netflix/gamefly deal. Might start up gamefly since i have the income this month for it. The idea of wireless headset is really good, hopefully you guys will be able to suggest what a good price for it should be. I am sort of loosing hope for a headset for both ps3/xbox, since i really don't want to buy two headsets.

Netflix is worth every penny, I've had a subscription for over a year and in that year they've made one mistake (sending me the wrong DVD), and it was easy to correct online.

Gamefly's worth will depend entirely on how long you take to beat the games you rent, but that's pretty easy to calculate. Personally it takes me too long to beat the games I spend money on to make Gamefly worth it.
