    Batman animated show

So I'm looking into watching the Batman cartoons, but I'm not sure which one I should get, or if both are good. I remember watching Batman Beyond and thought it was cool, but I'm not sure if there's a Batman series to watch before that.

Also, I hear a lot of good things about The Batman, which I've seen a few times, but it seems more cartoonish than Batman: The Animated Series. I'd also like to watch whatever other shows that have tie-ins like Justice League or anything else.

I think there was a cheesy Batman animated series before the one on Fox came about in the 90s, but I honestly can't tell you if it was worth looking into. I know I recall Batman and Robin showing up in various Scooby Doo cartoons, too. After TAS, there's been "The Batman" and "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" that have sprung up on the kiddie networks. I don't think any of them really took the franchise as seriously as TAS or even Beyond did.

I bought all 4 seasons of the Animated series a while back. Great stuff. These are the episodes that feature the voice of Mark Hamill and the dude that always voices batman.

    Batman/superman adventures are good too.
Basically from the animated series until justice league was made by the same group or at least exists in the same universe. Thebatman looked stupid when i saw it. Idk what to think about the brave and bold but it didn't catch any interest like the 90s series do.
I love the villans they madeup in there. If anyone disagrees i have 1 name for you. Harley Quinzel.

As some people said before, the storyline goes:

Batman - The Animated Series, The Adventures of Batman & Robin, The New Adventures of Batman (includes Batgirl, Nightwing and Terry Drake as Robin) and then Batman Beyond (or Batman of the Future, depending on where you live).

The Batman is a completely different universe and aside from the "new" Joker it is pretty solid, storywise...Season 1 is kinda slow though.

The Brave and the Bold I can't say, I haven't had time or motivation to watch it, but I don't like the idea itself.

I'm gonna take a shot at some sort of a time line so here goes:

Batman (the animated series season 1) > Mask of the Phantasm (movie) > The Adventures of Batman & Robin. (the animated series season 2) > The New Batman Adventures > Superman: The Animated Series (crossover episodes) > Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero (movie) > The New Batman Adventures (season2) > Batman Beyond > Return of the Joker (movie) > crossover episodes for Batman Beyond (Zeta Project, Static Shock, Justice League Unlimited)

Make sure you definitely watch the movies, especially the first one (Dana Delany's voice is the sex. Just as Hamill's voice is for the joker). Return of the Joker is also very good. SubZero I don't remember much (only saw it once 10yrs ago) but the other two have other important story elements (I guess SubZero does to for Mr.Freeze? anyone?). Oh and also make sure to watch the Superman crossovers and the Justice League ones. The superman ones had a great series of episodes "World's Finest". A mini-movie broken down to 3 episodes.

    I'm pretty sure the

"Batman Beyond > Return of the Joker (movie) > crossover episodes for Batman Beyond (Zeta Project, Static Shock, Justice League Unlimited)"

order might be off time-wise. If you want an order (if it even matters) you can probably look up the wiki for info on that. I didn't finish watching Beyond so that part of the line is iffy to me. The movie was great tho.

Batman is a great cartoon series. Everything that came after Beyond was crap IMO but times change. I grew up watching these on TV (along with Spiderman TAS. Check them out if you like him) and now I'm 23yrs old and still appreciate them.

Enjoy the vids and have fun~

Thanks for the suggestions. I remember watching The Animated Series a while ago, but I didn't know if there was an order. I'll try looking for these to watch, so thanks. I just hope they'll work on my PSP.

Looking at your list, are those The Animated Series s1-4, or is there a series inbetween/during those other than the Superman one?

I forgot about Batman and Robin, but I guess it was basically TAS with Robin being more frequent. I miss Justice League, too. One of the few good US-inspired cartoons of recent memory.

Yeah I was going by TV listing. When they released the DVDs, they named them Batman TAS seasons 1-4

    Batman TAS season1 = season 1 DVD

The Adventures of Batman & Robin = season 2 DVD

The New Batman Adventures seasons 1&2 = season 3&4 DVD

Batman TAS is one of my all-time favorite cartoon series ever. I'd go as far to say it even trumps Anime as my favorites. Mask of the Phantasm is a must-see. I like the earlier seasons better, I think for S3/4 they changed production/animation crews? Especially when they had batman/superman crossovers, they looked EXACTLY the same with the square jaws.

One of my favorite episodes was when he was undercover investigating a prison in the desert and got knocked out and captured, forgetting who he was.

batman TAS, JL, JL:U, Batman Beyond. Brave and the bold is good, I enjoy it, but BTAS was gold for me.

The Batman was pretty poo, never really enjoyed it, the later seasons were better when they adopted an art style inspired by BTAS but it wasnt very good

I think it was mostly parts of the flashback. Generally just violence related things. Also Batgirl gets some info from two hookers in the original version, and they were edited into a couple or something in the TV version.

Ok, so this thread made me want to watch Batman TAS and/or Mask of the Phantasm a great deal but... I can't seem to find it anywhere. I'd prefer it if there was a way to stream or download online but I couldn't even find shit on like, DVDs or anything. Any help?
