I really enjoyed the head to head in NSMB DS where you're trying to collect a certain amount of stars, the swear fests that come from that when playing with friends is epic, so if you can do stuff like that here, I'm looking forward to it even more.

Coin mode returns, although it takes a 2nd place to being a friggen item hog in the main game mode.
(every block that grants a power-up spawns one per player, and there's always that one friggen player who takes two powerups)


The smartest decision in the game I have to say is being able to hit A at any time to put yourself into a protective bubble. It basically allows you to coordinate fast moving sections where you can have everyone but the 'good' player bubble up, and let him run through the section, then popping the bubbles after. You can't do shit in a bubble other than shift yourself towards alive players, so it's a risk situation if the one non-bubble'd player dies as you'll restart from the last check-point.

Almost impossible to play co-op since you bump into each other. I've had so many "Sorry yoshi..." moments where you accidently jump off your friends head and he falls to his death thanks to you fucking his momentum.

For those with softmod Wii btw, I could only get the thing to work over WBFS-formatted USB + latest WiiFlow via HBC, every other method resulted in a green screen.

Mine (DVD) worked right away on neo gamma R8 beta 1/cIOS38 rev14 etc.
PAL version on a PAL Wii.

Back of case shows only a Wii remote icon, so I'm going to wager that's a 'no', which blows as I only got the 3 wii remotes, yet ample supply of Wavebirds.

Neo Gamma R8 beta 1 is a loader!
Also, gamma R8 was loaded off my SD with HBC.

I'm not even sure if that loader is the most up-to-date version as I hadn't touch my Wii for a few months untill this game came out.

Can't even run a game off the Disc Channel personally unless I load the game and return to the channels menu because of the cIOS lol.

Ah, figured it was just another one of those cIOS, there seems to be two of them floating around now, #249 & #242 iirc.

Open WiiFlow is a pretty slick loader at any rate. Doesn't have that proof-of-concept/tech-demo barebones look to it.
