I'm "dead puppy" disappointed at SE. I capped Modus way back before the UFO video, so I was already jazzed that there might be some pretty nice uses for it. I hope this new patch doesn't effectively make Modus useless on HNMs in general, or even NM mobs. I would dread having to redo Category 1 merits all over again if that was the case.

this is a monumental moment for me! to my knowledge i was the first person to point out this obvious, gaping, beat you over the head obvious flaw to SE which they eventually patched. in some small (very very small) way, i directly contributed to SE making a change based off player response!
seriously though, this should come as no surprise to anyone, nor should anyone be too terribly upset over it. given that MV is borderline useless outside of the multiplier trick we employed, having it nerfed is like a nin getting stealth nerfed. meh. MV helix spam was dodgy at best. we had a hard time locking it down to make it work and there was no strong indication on the horizon that this would change so in the end all they did was nerf an already weak ability.

but i will agree, MV doesnt have any real now that its so much more limited
People rarely used MV as is, hell it was the LEAST merited ability even after circles (pre-circle update)
Then people (well most non schs) finally realized it can be very broken and exploited to deal a fuck ton of damage in one go, obviously SE was gonna do something about it because it already took insane timing to even do it correctly.
It still has uses, just not going to be able to stack it..which shouldn't be a problem, because realistically, you can't say you've been told or seen SCHs told to stack their MV before the "word got out."
It had to have some sort of potential to wipe shit out or they wouldnt of Nerf it. Or maybe we should stop mainstreaming all the cool shit we discover >_>; but yeah this nerf makes me sadpanda
SCH's insanely awesome in Salvage, not to mention it's probably better than BLM for soloing/kiting in most cases.
My main concern now is how badly it's nerfed according to the update. I just don't want to think about deleting all those merits are redoing Category 1 again on any job.
Pretty much, this was just to stop from chaining MV. A single SCH will not be affected by this in any way
