The family plans don't include the smart phone data plans, so you do have to add $30 per phone. AT&T has the same $30 data plans for smart phones.

My droid is on a family plan. My mother and step father and I were all on individual plans with AT&T but we recently found out she gets a discount through Verizon for working at Wells Fargo. We went in to talk to the rep at the VZ store and we were told if my line was the primary on the account the data plan would actually be discounted as well. As far as I know this discount had nothing to do with her original discount, it was just because the primary line of a family plan was getting the data plan. I don't really remember what the details were but I believe my data plan was 23.99 because of this rather than 30. It's worth checking out atleast if you're looking into a family plan anymore. I'm going to pull up my billing details in a minute and edit this post with the information after I recover my fucking password.
edit: I can't actually pull up the bill right now as we just started service but I'm about 99% sure on what I said about that discount on the data plan. Check it out.
How much do u get through wells fargo at target they give us 20% off verizon and 21% off att
Found an app called 'ear', great little deal for setting ring/notification tone/volume, BT, wifi, airplane mode settings using profile presets.
my droid found its way into the washer this weekend..... its now on the heater vent then on its way to a bag of rice til friday....
wish me luck
Has anyone found a good music transfer program? I currently use the Motorola Media Link and it works fine but it wont let me keep my playlists sorted in alphabetical order.
doubletwist?
Fuck AT&T man. Switched last year for the iPhone and with all the shit coming out now, I'm really starting to regret this. If the the new iPhone doesn't put out, I'm praying for good android phones to come out, else I may have to deal with edge on an unlocked nexus one.
I'm getting sick and tired of my Blueberry 8330 breaking down...Question:
Big emails with a lot of attachments, how does the droid handle them? (Blackberry just says something along of the lines of 'It's too big'
How are the accessories for it? Not like Bluetooth stuff, but the cases and docking stations (so on).
Can you convert videos to play on the Droid? (I've been doing it on the curve)
Do you really need to use Windows Media Player to transfer music?
There's a deal online with VZW, buy the Moto Droid and get the HTC Droid Eris for free (with 2 lines). Which works out cause the GF wants out of AT&T. Good idea, or just spring for another Droid for her?
Other than BBM, I'm getting sick of Blackberry, I can't see anyother reason why I have to use this brick.
I plan on getting this thing regardless, it looks so slick and I can be a maximum douche with it (wave it in front of the Storm users at work).
I use the Media docking station and I love it. It sits so nice on my desk and keeps me from having to fish around for the wire to plug it in. People are making their own with magnets but I like it better because it stays plugged in and is easy to drop my phone into. I'm still trying to decide on a car docking kit, I'm just waiting to see a few more reviews.
I know it can play videos but I haven't gotten to try that out either.
There are a couple different media transferring programs out there but you can mount your phone and drag and drop your media and create your own playlists if you want.
I think your girl will be jealous of your Moto droid if you got her the Eris. I know mine had to have the same phone as me.
I really thought I would miss BBM a lot more when I got my Droid, but since it puts all your messages into a thread it's not as annoying as getting messages on my old Curve. Also the google chat program is pretty good and that's what the BBM was.
Anyone know when the new update is coming? I hear it has Flash support and speech to text.
Good call she wants one too, lol. I found it a little cheaper on Amazon's mobile website.
And uhhh, I guess VZW is getting ipoods

Has anyone played around with VLC Remote? I'd love to stream shit from my PC to my phone but I have absolutely no idea how to get it set up on my PC lawl
If droid has a LogMeIn app, there is nothing easier than it.
The multimedia dock is pretty good, I use it on my nightstand as my alarm clock.
Don't need to convert anything. Just drag-and-drop and it'll play as long as the format is supported.
No. Once you hook up to the USB, all you have to do is mount the drive to your PC (just press the notification on the phone) and then you can drag the music files right onto the player. Doesn't even matter what folder you dump them to afaik.
So I was sitting here reading can't remember if it was on bg or some where else. Verizon is getting a new set of "4g" phones in June ish? If i get the droid is that worth the buy now. Or would it be better to wait and see the new stuff that comes out. What i have works now but I don't know if i wanna spend that kind of money for something that will be outdated in a few months.
It's technology. Once you buy it, it's outdated.
