Yeah outdated was probably a bad term to use. But Id rather have something last 6-12months rather then 4 lol

I thought I heard Verizon wont unveil it's 4G network till 2011. I think it was in that article about Verizon getting the Iphone.
My 2 year contract with verizon is coming up shortly (I'm on my moms family plan)
She's canceling her family plan when its up because they just want tracphones, but she's going to continue to pay for a single plan for me on verizon.
Question is, do I
a) get a droid, with data plan and my 500 texts
b) go to at&t, get an iphone (I understand I don't need a texting plan with it?)
c) sprint? It doesn't seem their phones are that great.
I would prefer something with a keyboard, touch screen is a must. the gps on the droid is nice because I don't have a gps unit currently so if other phones have free gps like the droid does that's another thing I'm looking for.
Droid is 4G compatible.
Sprint is supposed to be revealing their 4G first, and they have 2 decent phones. I have an HTC Hero, it's good but I'm still getting used to no physical keyboard. They also have the Samsung Moment which is ok but I idk it didn't sit well in my hand. Sprint Navigation too for your GPS needs
Just got my wife one for her birthday couple of questions as I have not had a chance to read over all of this thread or get much time in on her droid but she is having issues with these. How do you get the resolution on pictures to look better for wallpapers? doesn't matter if there personal pics with super high resolution or custom wall papers they all look grainy as shit. is there an app that we have overlooked that will let her customize her home screens layout the way she wants it? She is trying to transfer her pics from her Blackberry sd card and when she puts it in the droid we can't figure out where to go to pull them up. Sorry for the noobish questions other then that phone is awesome.
when you go to make a wallpaper, you probably aren't maximizing the crop in order to get as little stretching as possible.
Basically what you want to do is enlarge that orange box you see when you are selecting a wallpaper. Click on one of the edges and draw out, that will make the box bigger. If you drag it to its max, then you will see less stretching from your image that the phone does in order to make it fit on its screen.
Alright this could be an incredibly easy thing to fix... but I have two text threads around 2500 on my droid eris and whenever i try to delete them i'll get an error and messages will force close. Any ideas on how i can delete these without going through 1 text at a time?
Has anyone checked out swype?
I am using it now, and im in love...

Make sure you do the tutorial so you know how to capitalize on demand, and handle two letters in a row on a word.
I tested it with the other droid that came with it built in, it is very fun but I did nto get use to it, could be that I only played with it for around 5min or so.
as for the 100 card, maybe you can get it waved? Call someone on the phone and say you really want to buy the phone but you have had a bad past with mail in rebates and would love to get it waved.
This is my true story, I bought a bluetooth that had a $25 mail in rebate said 3-4 weeks. Time passed 5th week comes, 6th. So I call them, they tell me I did not fill something out right bla bla bla, ends with me going into the store I bought them from and getting angry infront of other people buying phones.
Comes down to this I was willing to walk out that day and not get a phone if they did not wave that extra 100. Guess what? they gave it to me. Others might just want the phone and take the care/mail in rebate. Maybe you dont want to risk not getting a phone ~_~ just me tho I did not have the money to blow at the time also so really if I did not get that extra 100 off, very good shot I did not have the money to buy it anyways lol.
Note: the person selling you the phone cant wave it. their supervisor has to OK it.
edit: As for the AT&T, if you have them and get a good deal go with the Iphone, if you dont they are hardly the only place to look anymore. Lots of smart phones on any network, I went with the droid because its a fucking sweet phone, better then the I phone in every way(outside number of apps and teen age fan boys) and I did not have to change who I had my phone with.
Go with what is on your network. I-phone rocks still, sprit is really the only one that I think is not great with smart phones.
I just called VZW. My date was Feb 20 2010, I asked them to move it up, they did.
If I got it online:
$299.99 2 YR - $100 Online Discount - $50 New Every Two Discount: $149.99
At the store:
$299.99 2 YR - $50 New Every Two Discount (wait 2 weeks for a Visa Debit card with $100): $249.99
I might just say f it and buy it from the store. (Thanks to the Saints for winning me money xoxo)
I have an Iphone for work and the Droid as a personal phone. I absolutely hate carrying this Droid around. It is too big for your front pocket and looks retarded in your back pocket. It spends all its time in my girl's purse (which could be dangerous).
Anyone picking between the two, go with Iphone.
Zune phone needs to hurry up and be on Verizon....
They both look terrible in pockets. but bitches see that big bulge and they know that you're in the now.
