I'm still confused; the literature I got from Verizon doesn't mention anything about this $30 a month data plan and the guy I talked to at the store seemed to think my family share premium plan would allow me to skip the extra $30; now I'm even more confused.

I'm pretty sure the data plan is the better way to go, but I could be mistaken. The premium plan is for VCAST, but the data plan acts like pretty much any internet plan over the 3G network.

Of course I could be wrong, I am by far not an expert lol. I do know the data plan is the same thing blackberry users need, and I'm pretty sure they can't just use the premium plan to skip the 30 dollar fee.

i picked this up yesterday, got the 100 off, and then when ringing me up the girl was like, it looks like you get another 50 dollar discount...

i didnt say anything until i paid, then i asked what the other discount was, and she laughed and said she didnt know...

the only problem i experienced so far was after i hooked into my wifi and left my house, it did not seem to reenable 3G access (yes i disabled the wifi also). i had to reboot the phone to get 3G to work.

I read that the physical keyboard is not very good... any opinion about this?

I tried to go to a verizon store to play with it and there were only one unit in the whole store and there were a few people waiting to get their hands on it. Compared to the iPhone where you can just go to an apple store and there are like 10 of them to play around. Gonna try again another day.

Its as good as any other physical keyboard, I prefer the virtual keyboards, the autocorrect is awesome.

I want to pick up a Droid but I have heard from a few people that they are having sound quality issues during calls, other than that they love their Droids. Are any of you Droid owners having this "sound quality issue"?

Nope, on both ends.

No sound quality issues what so ever.

There is the very rare occasion where the sound will go el fucko (it will be quieter than usual), but that just requires a phone reboot. Otherwise it's a very loud phone.

I occasionally hear a robo-echo of myself when I make calls, but the quality of the call itself is fine. Never a problem hearing the other person or them hearing me, even when I get the echo thing.

Loving this phone though. My first smartphone, apparently it was the right time to move. All 3 keyboards are great, the touch is quick and accurate, and the phone flies.

By the way, for those looking to upload custom Notification sounds, they need to be made in /media/audio/notifications/. Otherwise custom ringtones can be run through the media player and set there.

Anyone's GPS locations coming up off? It's off by a good 2 miles, which sucks because I can't use google voice navigation.

It might be accurate if I leave the dorm, haven't tried yet.

Inside mine is off by up to 2000 meters, outside is accurate to 4 meters most of the time. A clear path to the sky helps.

This is correct, if you are in a basement, or something of that sort. It always routes different and is off. Clear skies or bust.
