One benefit of the smn method that I'm not sure has been mentioned yet is that B.Shantotto's hate will often switch to one of the avatars instead of a party member, allowing the focus to stay on D.Shantotto. If she uses the aoe WS the smns and support will probably be out of range anyway, maybe 1 or 2 smns going in to BP will be hit max.
This. No time for such bullshit. I'll go one step further. I was invited to a BC battle, were @5 people, and the leader of the party, and the co-organizer were taking like... 5-6 minutes to answer basic questions (What job should I be? My friend might be interested - have you found a 6th?) Finally, I said fuck it, I don't have time to ask the same question like 8-9 times with no response and left. Not kidding, 45 fucking minutes later, the leader sends me a shitty /tell telling me I was an asshole for disbanding. It took him THAT long to even notice.... when he was AT the BC.
question:
for the full moon fountain fight, does every party member need all 8 saps or just the leader?
I once asked a party leader several times what sub he wanted me to use. After getting no answer I just said screw it and used my best judgement. Then at the BC he started bitching at me for having the "wrong" sub. The party was mostly from his LS so of course they backed up his retardation.
There are valid reasons to stay /anon during a BC, mostly due to how certain jobs will get spammed with stupid tells ("hey can you do * after you're done?") if supply is low enough and demand high enough. But agreed that if they can't even type "oh yeah I'm <job>", you should boot them.If they won't go off anon and won't tell you their job, /pcmd kick
I've never even heard of someone refusing to say their job. I'd not only kick them, but I'd berate them, blacklist them, and barrage their Delivery Box with pebbles.
Went 1/1 on the final fight. Oddly enough I didn't go WHM, as their were two already and they went against my advice that having a third would be better than me going Bard. We just barely got D. Shantotto down, after four members already reraised, before a complete wipe. We came very close to wiping again during Shantotto's rage, winning while almost every member was in the red. Curaga IV's weren't being spammed as much as I advised, but we won, so I won't complain.
Went with movement speed and cure potency. Couldn't justify much else over a 5% increase on cures, between WHM, BRD, BLM, and soon to be RDM.
Did it SMN SMN SMN SCH WHM WHM
Very easy if mages+ SMN are keeping a good distance from Shantotto.
Pclaws caped at 2.5k for me also it's very likly Avatars get the 3 X hp so make holding easy with 3 SMNs since resummon = 3k hp more for that taru to work through.
Anyhow reguardless the method excess healing seems to be the key i'd also sub
/WHM on SMN over /SCH
a) you have 3 X mp.
b) you get magic def bonus.
If i was going to do this melee wise i'd go WHM WHM COR DD x 3
COR there just for magus roll to increase survivabitly then prolly SAM or WAR roll since buffs prolly increase attack and acc enough.
Btw AoE range seems to be 30+ from target.
Also since i done it a few times the hexs "seems" to be this.
1. Tablet of Hexes: Greed (G-10) :some Bar
2. Tablet of Hexes: Envy (F-8) :some Bar
3. Tablet of Hexes: Malice (F-10) :some Bar

I'm wondering who all actually needs the Hexes I've heard multiple reports of people helping with the final fight, getting the buffs wether they had the Hexes or not.
So I am wondering if only one person requires the Hexes just as with the previous fight where only one person needed the saps to gain the benifit.
No, there are not valid reasons for that kind of shit, at all, ever. This is coming from someone who has WHM/RDM/BLM/BRD, too. I have gotten a couple of stupid tells now and then, but I would never qualify it as being "spammed" to a degree that's so out of control it justifies being anonymous during a mission or BCNM preparation. Turn on away, blacklist people who won't take no for an answer, put something in your seacom, but don't sit there and be anonymous during a mission. It's much faster for someone to just check you for themselves and tell you to change than have to ask you, for one, and secondly: some people fucking lie. They think they know better than the party leader what will work in the BCNM, so they act like they've changed to the job combination requested, and then you get inside and realize they're on their own agenda. Anon is fucking dumb, stop doing it.
I love you Ivve :<
does anyone know if people who just come to help need the key items to get buffs or will they get buffs if everyone else has every key item?
Helpers don't need Hexs
there also don't need expanision and they don't need to be on the mission
they will get all buffs
if it is effected by the person starting doesn't really matter since they should have all the important hexs anyway.
I assume if I wanna credit for an extra Tonberry Key when helping out others, I have to get all 16 hexes?
I mean, good idea to get them all anyways... but yeah.
edit: Also, friend made this for our parties. We always manage to somehow land in a party that messes up the first run so this sometimes drills the formation into their heads. Also, they all happen to have RDMs for some reason.

I've never heard of people outright spamming tells because of your job before. Maybe it happened once to you and you're paranoid now, but I've never even seen it once in 6 years.
See how illogical an argument that is?
