Second, time we won as rdm, rdm, nin, pld. It was cake since everyone was /nin and could bounce hate around and one of the rdm was always out of range of the AoE petrify move.
Just wanted a little more info! Like see, that info about doing it with 4 and people subbing /NIN just adds to my strategay

    Regarding Windurst missions:

    Spoiler: show
Few things, for those of you have done RNG AF, I believe Nhev is the sinner mentioned yea? I never did RNG AF3 and it's been a while- but isn't Nhev the grandmother of Semih Lafihna or something? I could've sworn someone's mother was only a child during the Crystal War but was still "cursed" with the sins of the her mother, etc.

I got the feeling Yow Rabntah was Lehko's mother, not Nhev. When he was wielding the Bow of Light, something Perih Vashai struck a chord with me leading me to that solution. Perhaps I am all sorts of wrong, but that is what I surmised.

    Quest 1:
Windy is under attack again from a huge army of both yags and demons. All citizens are evacuated to Heavens Tower. Lehko Habhoka asks you to escort two VIP's into the city for him; Nhev Befrathi and her spaztastic daughter, Syu Befrathi. When you get them back to town, Nhev hands over the Bow of Light to Lehko.

    Quest 2:
Robel-Akbel asks you to gather the three magicite from mission 4-1 for him. When you get back he tells you he's from present day Shadowreign area where the beastmen won ect ect. He takes off the bandages from his face, but SE toys with you and doesn't let you actually see his face for yourself. He admits to finding the real Robel dead and then taking his identity. Karaha-Baruha shows up and doesn't seem at all surprised at the identity of Robel-Akbel. Robel takes off, and Karaha head off to find the Star Sybil to say his good byes to her. Star Sybil begs him not to go through with it, but he forces her to make her order him to protect the city. She eventually breaks down and does, then they both cry a bit, hug, and say they love eachother before Karaha takes off.

Karaha and Robel show up on the top of the city gate and work together summon Fenrir. Fenrir pwns the shadowlord's army in epic fashion. Tzee Xicu the Manifest shows up inside the city, so the boys move Fenrir to fight him. Tzee Xicu stops Fenrir in his tracks as the smn's begin to run out of juice. Both Karah and Robel are absorbed by Fenrir. Lehko runs to get the Bow of Light and aims it at Tzee Xicu, but Perih Vashai stops him from shooting it. Tzee Xicu challenges you to meet him in Castle O for the final confrontation, then warps away. Then Fenrir runs off. The mithra sin hunter from the last set of missions shows up and hints that Lehko is related to Nhev Befrathi, then takes off. I think she said Nhev is his mom. She also mentions that Nhev was taken prisoner by the yagudo.

It seems from the cutscenes that Robel-Akbel is Karaha-Baruha 20 years in the future, the future where the beastmen won the war. The only thing is they don't really explain why he was with Lady Lilith, but I guess that's for later.

Wow, that was a lot more typing then I thought it'd be.
    Spoiler: show
My guess is that they have similar intentions, they are both interested in erasing their shitty futures. Or Lilith just offered Robel a path to the past and he took it, seeing as he'd be free to do what he needed to do to make sure Windurst survived.

Now that Robel's dead, I doubt we'll get too much more information from the other Spitewarden's about him. In the first quest, was it said that Robel was taking care of something in the Northlands? Since Windurst isn't involved in the North yet, the business that Robel was taking care of was probably the attack on Zvhal that we saw at the end of the previous main missions.

Also, I took Lehko's relationship to be that he was the son of the Mithra who went on the northland expedition 30 years ago, who then later went mad and murdered a village. Not that he is the son of Nhev.

Thanks, that was really well detailled.

About Robel-Akbel, he probably tagged along to change the past. If he was willing to die for the city in one world, he will definitively regret not saving it in the other.

just did Howl with 7 ppl. Cor, Brd, Whm, Ageis Pld/Rdm, Blu x3. Pld super tanked while the Blu picked the mobs off. went very smoothly, finished the battle min under 10 minutes. Those mobs were a lot softer than what I was expecting.

It looks like my theory was right from be beginning concerning Robel-Akbel. I love the Windy missions.

    Spoiler: show
At least mostly right. I hadn't guessed about being from the Shadowreign Era. But as soon as we started helping out with Fenrir, I knew he was some form of Karaha-Baruha. I wonder if we'll have to fight him as Fenrir now though.

Purple squad had a member of each race, and we know the elvaan was in sandy quest line. Back then it was just an assumption that Robel was from shadow realm and was a member, but let's face it, no other taru made as much sense as him.

On the plus side, you don't have to be at or past the quest to assist. I had two good friends help me through the fight, who didn't have any of the preparations, but were still able to join the alliance and attack the mobs when they popped.

Definitely possible but the Galka came out of nowhere... the elf fomor too was just someone in the wotg missions (from what I recall).

I think they'd have to shift gears to make it work 'cause he's been nothing but helpful so far.

Loving the Windy cutscenes at the moment - Sandy just makes me want to hurl my keyboard out of the window (compulsory fishing in quests should be banned) and Bastok is getting interesting (despite my allergy to Galka).

Need to get parties for the fights now - which is going to be a pain in the rear on EU playtime on Midgard.

    Spoiler: show

I loved the Windy questline because it really tied up a few loose ends in the story and answers quite a few questions.

I'm pretty sure last updates surprise (Robel is a Spitewarden) echoes with Windy update's shocker (Robel is Karuha Baruha)..

it would seem that in Lilith's timeline, he fails his summoning, windurst falls, but he does live on in the chaos after that. Perhaps his skill at summoning were valued and thus he wasnt killed off.. but his love for the Star Sybil kept him from truly becoming evil. He did pick up some new purple energy ball magic along the way tho.

That said, there would have been no motivation for him to rise into the ranks of Spitewarden if he didn't know that they would be travelling back in time. Perhaps that is a coincidence. Since he realises he can go back to change the past, he probably decided that he could try to change the future, which he did I think, since he seems to suggest that in his future, Fenrir was never tamed and thus Windurst was sieged.

I still dont know how Lehko figures into this though...

Does anyone feel the same way as I after this set of nation quests..
each of the 3 sides seem to be tying up their stories.. after all the Crystal war is drawing closer to its final points..
but from each storytellers perspective, both windurst and sandy have "ended".
With sandy, the influence from another time (Zogbog) has pretty much given up on changing the future.
With windy, one of the influences has been removed - the other, i'm not too certain, but the siege on Windy seems to be the point of divergence, and it has gone down according to our time.

with Bastok, there is much left to be answered, but I'd say the external influence is also 'removed' since they've not been able to alter the course of history (through the assassinations) - I'm assuming at this point that whatever possessed Klara (not spoiler since we knew this like since 2 updates ago) might not be from this time.. it could be a spitewardens doing or something..

so technically, all 3 storylines have reached a point where the only next step is Xarcabard and Castle Zvahl... it remains to be seen if theres a final chapter in the nation quests after this.. (Sandy's already ends on a full circle), but if there is, its likely to only be like BCs or something.. Windy's implies BC in Oztroja_S..

    so.. what im saying is..

and tl;dr version: i think the next update might tie nation quests and wotg missions together into the same 'chapter', ie probably released side by side, or features from the quests being in the missions (as if they'd occured). perhaps there won't even be nation quests anymore - we already got i think the most awesome mission/quest convenience reward items the game has offered thus far.

Zogbog has far from given up changing the future. He acquire blueprints, apparently from our time, and is using them to create a weapon that will be done in "twenty years time", which implies San d'Oria's storyline might cross over into our time.

Lehko definitely implies that he knows we're from the future, and his relationship with Robel-Akbel also seem to link himself to the future, and as for Bastok- well
    Spoiler: show
wasn't Prien murdered? That's not supposed to happen according to Elmer's timeline

I got distracted by campaign and lost my train of though

I imagine next Mission Update will introduce Zvahl Baileys (and probably Keep), then there will be the final Quest Update (Zeid & Volker in the Throne Room, Excenmille following the Orcs to Aldiane or w/e [perhaps the rift between Rahal and Cyraunce?], Perih Vashai blinding herself with the Bow of Light), followed by the final Mission Update.

well.. with regards to the Zogbog cutscene with the blueprints.. its sort of a 'give-up'. I'm not sure if you've watched animes much but the way that CS played out it was kind of like one of those "oh well, if i cant get what i want now, i'll wait 20 years for just a chance...' kind of moments. I'd say something like resigning-to-his-fate. Its meant to be a humorous way of closing the storyline for a disillusioned villian. The fact that it had an air of humor to it led me to believe it was just a joke at the end of the storyline (kinda like ASA's ending CS in Windy Walls.)

    Thats my take anyway.

The other thing that led me to believe Sandy's storyline had pretty much come full circle was that the Griffons reunited.. all of them grew stronger in some ways.. and were happy to be together, but still have their little boys-will-be-boys kind of rivalries..

well.. the bow of light and zeid/volker vs shadowlord scenes are to be expected, but then again they're things u dont get involved in at all, unless suddenly they want to retcon the story into saying that you defeated Shadowlord alongside zeid and volker but volker took all the credit >_>

    edit: bastok
    Spoiler: show

    no, not murdered

I have a feeling that all 3 of the nations quests are going to be required for the next group of regular missions because

    Spoiler: show
They're kind of down a spitewarden and having Volker + co suddenly show up at the Throne room would be too random without expanation. Well at least I hope they require all 3 to get the lazy people to do them all. >O

Honestly I think that would go against the best interest of SE trying to hold their FFXI customer base despite FFXIV being released.
