Uh after a certain %, when it uses Reaving Wind it will do Reaving Wind>Reaving Wind>Calamitous Wind>Calamitous Wind, you can out of range Calamitous Wind if you know what you are doing tho. Excal PLD+RDM could do it if they knew what they were doing I'm sure.
PS hex it runs faster than 12% movement, best you can do is stay ahead for a few seconds unless you can make it path badly.
He's not that simple. He doubles up all his TP moves at the end but from my 8 or so fights I've seen zero pattern. Last night he favored Calamitous wind and bloody beak over anything. And every time he'd use Bloody Beak he'd draw in everyone first. It was super annoying when the amount drained seemed totally random. At one point late in the fight all he did was use Calamitous Wind 3 times in a row and running only caused him to draw everyone in.
So if I were to bring like 8 people who have no experience fighting ampitheres, what jobs and setup would be ideal to give a solid first attempt? I understand it's rage mode, but what about the fight in general.![]()
You're contradicting yourself. You are saying you out ran his TP moves but clearly state he will draw in if you're out of his range. And when we fought him last night our targets were not out of his range. I've killed this NM plenty over the last week to watch and learn how it works. Last night was the only time he went completely retarded with Draw In. The PLDs were his target and still he'd drain and rape everyone.
If he's got a pattern why did he use Calamitous Wind 3 times in a row instead of doing it twice and reverting back to Reaving Wind? And I know he doubles up his TP moves, the only reason he did it 3 times last night was because it's just not possible to handle 3 draw in Calamitous winds that are hitting for 1k+ everytime. There was no pause in it, he used them back to back to back before we could even get ourselves back into position.
You may have got lucky with a very calm nice TP move version. I mean hell I can say I've killed Khim over a dozen times and never seen 1 fulm, doesn't mean that's his pattern is to never use the move.
two of your best tanks and a solid backup for them. damage can be anything really, i was doing ok as summoner, but i'd stick to ranged damage. he can fuck a tank if he wants, so you gotta be careful. don't kite it unless really lowman, since draw in will just fuck your alliance.
THIS IS ONLY SPEC! But has anyone noticed that right before timesworn warrior pops, two skeletons pop first in that certain area in the back where that hound nm is. This has happened both today and yesterday while I camped it. These two warrior skeletons didn't even pop into that certain area near that hound nm till like an hr 30 . I just wanted to bring that up.
Is it possible to spam tier1 spells on those fomors to "lock" them by making them retaliate with their magic counter?
We generally take between 12~18 to the fights.

Nuke the hell out of it with shadows up, don't worry about leveling him up. BLMs will make short work with Fire4 and Flare2, as /NIN will absorb his Blizzard4 retaliation. At 35%, mages use poison potions and stay out of range of Shockwave, PLD use Sentinel to counter Blood Weapon as soon as you are awake.

Don't weapon skill (it will level him up). Rangers simply using ranged attacks can tear him apart in as little as three minutes.

This guy resets hate crazier than any of the others, and gets really unstable at 35% with his endoom. BLM/NIN can tear him apart with Stone4 and Quake2, and survive well enough to not be a burden on MP. /NIN also allows for BLMs to nuke and absorb his Thunder4 retaliation. Tanks should bring Holy Waters, the RDM/NIN should keep Slow2 and Bio2 on, and at 35% when somebody gets doomed the RDM/WHM, and WHMs should all spam cursna on them. Hopefully they brought Holy Waters!

Buff up before engaging, pull with Dia3, unleash hell on her. She will die in 20 seconds without ever leveling up.

My LS has just killed Tethra by manaburn, ranged attacks kept dealing 0 dmg =/
We're talking about the taru NM, right?
Anyone know if the Mithra has a similar magic stoneskin? After Ice did 0, tried cycling through the other elements, then gave up on nuking entirely. Didn't even consider this possibility, and probably didn't do enough damage to break the stoneskin if it exists.
It probably isn't worth using BLM to kill either way, but would be nice to know.
