FFXI New NMs 11/9/09

I saw Dark weather but i didn't reach it in time and it switched to Thunder :\

Wiki's probably the last source I'd use for any of this. Safe to say it hasn't been long enough to go by something along the lines of "only spawns during dark weather". Could have just been coincidence that it was up during dark weather.

Looks like Okyupete, somehow I completely missed it. No drops listed as of yet. Any idea if it's lottery or timed?

Heading up there now since I'm in the zone. If its not up, gonna go ahead and kill a few birds, then just keep shuffling between it, and Goaftrap.

I was the one who popped it and made that note. I never confirmed the dark weather though. I just noticed that when it finally did pop that dark weather was present and any alledged PH mobs were already up, or not due to pop that fast, and just made note that it was a possibility. I also didnt think it should have taken about an hour and a half to pop a lotto mob, who hadn't been spawned yet. I've been trying to pop it for the duration of 4 Goaftraps with no luck, and none of this time dark weather was up.

Hints at Mantrap, but its a Greater Bird...I just wish I knew how I popped it last night :\ Its definately not timed though.


I'm thinking it may be like Megalobugard, with a shifting PH, but theres not enough birds to suggest that (nor to any of them share spawns). However the Cradle Horn NM may work like that.

Goaftrap dropped Aldorf's earring thf in my ls just killed it and got drop 1/1
so yea can say thats a confirmation

I completely agree. Trying to pop this thing gives me something to do while waiting in between pops for Goaftrap.

Was doing Shantotto missions in Zitah and found Bastet (couerl) and Huwasi (golem), killed the couerl no drop, golem was evil and spammed crystal rain (insert prince joke).

Found a doll in Romeave named Martinet by the door for the shantotto cs, and no drop.

Probably old news anyway

Haha, so true. Slight derail for those whose use Photobucket still, and don't have access to you're own server. Try Facebook. Seriously. Facebook doesn't have a bandwidth cap and you can up load as much as you want for free. Just make an album, make it invisible to everyone, then upload away. When you want to link the pic just copy it's url and bingo.

Which were you killing?
All of them, the ones near Sacrarium, in water, the ones south?

All of them. It popped in the south corner in that little sliver of F-5, so I'm guessing if it is just strictly a lottery, it would be the ones south of the bridge.

He also hits kinda like a truck, he was rocking my COR/RNG pretty bad until I got my RDM there to help.

Question:
Which new NMs gives this message on the screen and instant-despawns if you wipe to it?
"The monster fades before your eyes, a look of disappointment on its face."

So far, from what Ive been able to find, Scylla and Zirnitra gives this message, but are there more?

And what (if any) could these possibly have in common with each other?

- Also did you know that at least some FoV NMs gives the exact same msg, when they despawn? (idk if all do, but I know some do).

Thats the same place it popped for me too, just have to find which ones are the PH now.
