FFXI New NMs 11/9/09

There's no such thing as "fixed" level when talking about any mob or NM in this game.

Pretty sure there are a few exceptions... Boreal mobs, possibly Grand Wyrms (always 95, I think)...

There were a few others, but I can't remember what they were.

Oupire can drop Orichalcum Ores, my LS killed him before salvage lastnight and got 3 to drop.

Including not getting drops Haven't gotten one off any of the new NMs I've killed thus far.

Anyone else noticing that TH doesn't seem to play a factor in these NMs?? Just from browsing forums it seems like people that use TH has the worst luck with the drops and then people that don't use TH will go like 1/1 - 1/3 on the drop. Maybe its just that most THF's or /THF's are running into a string of bad luck, but i just found that interesting.

Its all bad luck. You can't prove that TH is or is not working. I'm pretty sure its working, considering even with the horrid luck, I haven't gotten into double digits as of yet on any NM I've killed for a drop. Most I've gone is 1/8 on Goaftrap.

EDIT: All NMs I've killed has been with TH4. The following I can confirm on drops:

Qoofim - Sylph Earring (Latent: HMP +1) (Rare)
Nandi - Rathe Earring (Latent: Store TP +1) (Rare)
Wake Warder Wanda - Melampus Staff (INT -2, MND +2, "Cure" Potency +3%) (Rare)
Hippomaritimus - Channeling Robe (Bonus Damage added to magic burst) (Rare)
Belladonna - Virtuoso Belt (Accuracy +12, Attack +4) (Rare/Ex)
Marquis Sabnock - Astrolabe (STR+1, Accuracy +3) (Rare/Ex)
Goaftrap - Atdorf's Ring (Ranged Accuracy +1, Set: AGI+8 ) (Rare/Ex)
Aminita - Tenax Strap (Attack +1) (Rare)
Myradosh - Restorer's Cloak ("Cure" potency +3% Spell interruption rate down 10%) (Rare/Ex)

These are the only NMs I've gotten drops from and can confirm them. Keep in mind there are a handful of more NMs I've killed that have dropped absolutely nothing as of yet, but I've only killed these NMs at most 2 times.

The following have only dropped Synth materials:

Sengann - Square of Lineadach
Pyuu the Spatemaker - Sahagin Gold
Slumbering Samwell - Samwell's Skank
Rambukk - Bukktooth

I'm more interested in finding out what exactly the synth materials are used for. Someone mentioned they may go along with the pigments and such found on other NMs.

I'm more interested in finding out what exactly the synth materials are used for. Someone mentioned they may go along with the pigments and such found on other NMs.

Those materials are used to craft lots of new pieces of gear, not necessarily the pigment-related ones. For example, "Square of Lineadach" is a material necessary for making Kyoshu Sitabaki, the new Kick Attacks pants. See the new recipes thread for this kind of thing.
