FFXI New NMs 11/9/09

Alright need verification for this. Anyone who's popped Okyupete or seen it up, can you please post where you found it at? The two times I've seen it up, its been at (F/G-5) (second time it popped, someone else killed, they got nothing to drop).

Pretty certain this is probably the only place that it can pop, or it could just be some weird occurrence.

I am using search but not finding it in this thread. NM Cockatrice in Sauro[S] named Coquecigrue, any info? I'll edit this if Mattnumbers summary has it.

He's pretty easy. Duo'd as BLU and RDM. He cast's all sorts of Earth based magic IV, GA, and AM included. Headbutt kept that in check. He's about low end Easy Prey in level and worked in standard Cockatrice TP moves (almost died when I got petra'd).

No drop, so no info on that.

So far Ive seen LOTS of drops from several NMs to people that did not main or sub Thief for Treasure Hunter and yet myself and 3 other people from my LS with 2 x TH4 (yes yes I know they dont stack /laugh) are going 0/10, 1/10 and 1/14 on lots of these new NMs like the Headlong Belt NM.

Its getting to the point where I dont see any point in using THF on these new NMs, a Whm/war that is selling Headlong Belt for gil has gotten 4 drops so far and we are 1/14 with TH4, WHAT THE ??? SE - FIX Treasure Hunter dammit /laugh and /cry...

There's a rumor going around that some Scorpion NM in Meriphataud in the past MIGHT drop it. This hasn't been verified though.

TheNirvana just took this guy out on Pandy, about an hour fight and quite a few deaths, very confusing NM constantly changes what it's weak too we think sort of like the NMs in RoMaeve and Zitah you have to kill for expansion, only dropped 2 wolfram ingots, no feet =(

I'm working on trying to pop it right now. Knocked down 9 of the 18 possible PHs twice last night, took a nap, went to work, and now I'm back at it. Knocked down another 2 twice with now pop and I'm working on another pair now. I can also verify that it's probably not a Fire Weather pop, since there was fire weather here a little while ago and I took a quick run around and didn't see it on unlocked APRadar2. I'll try again if Earth Weather pops since apparently the Mountain Scolopendrids get some kind of Auto Regain during earth weather. Maybe linked, maybe not. Until then I'm just rotating around the zone killing each twice.

Despain when you were killing the battrap mobs did you clear a certain area or every single one of them in the SW portion of the map?

We killed the Hume and the Elv a little before maint today. We planned to go for the Galka after yesterday's 25% depop but another shell was fighting it.

Hume took a little over an hour. Circle Blade was a bitch. A couple people had close to 10 deaths just because of his random hate shit and would kill them weakened with Netherspikes I think it was. You can't go too far away to rest or else he'll just draw in the whole alliance. We started slow because we tried to see how good Blm would do. Once that failed everyone got Sam and Rng.

Also why the fuck does it's Savage Blade do upwards of 1k damage, so not fair. Once it hit 25% we just 2 hour zerged it down.

The Elvaan was a total joke. Killed in 20 minutes flat. 1 death the whole fight. Grim Halo caused a lot of close calls at the start but it was handled better as the fight went on. The Blm reported his nukes worked a ton better on the Elv than it did on the Hume.

Do you label your DATs to tell placeholder by mob ID or are you just killing any scorps you can find and organizing where they pop? If it's the latter, would you like a modded dat to help identify them easier?

All of them that were right outside of KRT.

I just came out on WHM/RNG1 and ran around widescanning/APRadaring to figure out where each spawns. They don't seem to move around a whole lot so they stay pretty well clustered. That being said, a modified dat would be great, I don't know how to do it myself :/

hmm the other pairings of set items, do both the mobs they drop from have same pop conditions. IE timed, lotto, or w/e? Only reason iam thinking this is just like mis coast there are traps there but Goaftrap spawned no where close to any and is timed pop.
