FFXI New NMs 11/9/09

Oh. I'd definitely love to be 0/1 on Eldritch Edge right now. I killed PH for about 4 hours last night and 4 hours today, and he still hasn't popped. Moving on to Blighting Brand while no one's camping him.

There are 20 of the earrings, and they're very similar to the level 30 latent effect ones. They're almost certainly linked individually to each of the jobs, there are just a few possibilities:

Main job = trigger job
Subjob = trigger job
In party with trigger job

Can't really think of any other reasonable possibilities for it.

It's simple to decipher the jobs associated with the earrings if you look at how they are listed in the .dats. They correspond with the job lists / releases.

the only problem being my friend tested this one with /sch on rdm/sch rested and gained no addition hmp, so has to be some additional latent or something.

There were some earrings activated by circle abilities before. Try and see if any job specific JA activates the latents.

seems unlikely since some of them couldn't be used from subjobs at all [rdm, smn, brd, bst, or nin].

Well Thoon and Humbaba don't drop the lumber, and it doesn't look like there's any other mobs in the game that follow gigas stuff.

Took me roughly 4 Waves, so about 20 minutes. make sure you're getting all 8 Skeletons (I just genocided them all >.>)

No i didn't >.O i've never used widescan, been doing THF/NIN on all the NM's, to afraid of getting ownt.

Also, Killed Calcabrina, didn't catch placeholder, may be a coincidence but it spawned in the little at I-5. Spammed Berserk, had like 15% Accuracy on my 75THF... does -NOT- have TP Regain, tested that when it was at 10% HP, let it live for a good minute while whiffing my shadows and never weaponskilled... it gains -alot- of TP from being hit however, at least 25TP as a 75THF Single wielding THF's knife.

didn't see how much it'd hit me for, never hit me =), i killed all 6 Dolls in the area, took me 6 waves of mobs for it to pop... NO DROP <3

Kotan-kor Kamuy still hasn't popped according to AP Radar on Midgardsormr since the emergency maintenance yesterday.

Camped him with a friend for a little under 2 hours with a friend killing all the hippogryphs.
Anyone else have any luck with him since maintenance or any more information on him at all?

After googling Kotan-Kor Kamuy apparently it's an Ainu orally told story from Japan (obviously).
If you go to the bottom of this page (JapanFocus) it's the more widely accepted transliteration of the story.




One could reason that a spawn condition of rainy weather must be met, the spawn area for him is quite literally right next to a river which I'm assuming is another reference to this story.

Is another reference to the monster although used as a hippogryph it is part eagle just like Kotan-kor Kamuy is.

It just screams that there's a spawn condition that must be met with all the other references.

Although looking at the wiki page for Grauberg tells me that only lightning and wind weather are present here, back to square one.
Unless they use either those as reference to a storm or something I guess.

I dunno, my friend and I went to kill Hippos just yesterday, not even 15 minutes of killing them (the most eastern G-7 and the ones down by the water) he popped on the eastern hill. No weather was up at the time, it was daytime. Just lottery i'm guessing.

Spawned with two other chigoes in same bush, so probably is a timed spawn

easily dot/nuke kitable, just avoid aggro from other mobs in area
just be careful while kiting, deaggros easily when it casts flare/firaga3

Killed Jengalot just now in Fei'Yin, sitting up in the room just north of Qu'Bia Arena. both dolls near the door were still up, seems to be a timed spawn with that being said.

Solo'd as 75THF/NIN with some difficulty, did -NOT- Rotate spells, it just spammed Diaga II or Holy, every 10~15Seconds i'd say, whichever spell it wanted tbh... but only those two spells.

Had to PD and Bloody bolt at a certain point to eliviate strain from bad luck with Holy early on.

75THF took 214DMG From Holy II... pretty fun fight.

oh, and no Drop. fucking surprise fucking surprise.



Woah, Edit, checked the guys post on 42, Timeworn Warrior spawns in Xarcabard, not Beauc.
