FFXI New NMs 11/9/09

Finally got Goaftrap to put out. 1/13, drop rate, etc.

Marquis Dicksuck refuses to pop for me. Going on 3-4 hours now (lost count).. I've watched two episodes of V, and Paul Blart during my time camping D:

As for popping conditions, Ive narrowed it down.

After last death, TT pops exactly one hour later if its raining. And its not a window or anything, she /will/ pop one hour later almost to the dot.

If it isn't raining, she will pop almost as soon as it starts raining. Simple as that.

Seems she depops once it stops raining, and repops or something when it starts again.

Also, thunder weather doesn't count, only rain

She will pop anywhere in the same little clearing that the other malboro roams around, any side. If you stand dead center you can see her no matter where she pops.

I was able to set my watch to one 59 minutes after ToD and afk. Watch would beep, sit down at comp and poof there she'd pop practicly in front of me, piece of cake ^^/

Good luck though, this drop rate is as shitty as the rest

good info, i was lucky enough to go 1/1 on the Heartwood, crafted it into the Crossbow myself ^^;

SE needs to make it so you can synth HQ mat as well as NQ, but maybe if you use a HQ in the synthesis it increases your chance of HQing...

I don't have nearly as many kills as most of you, but overall I'm 1/13 on drops of anything. I've only been doing mostly the low lvl NMs. Oh, and my 1 drop? Besieger Mantle

Tried Pyuu the Spatemaker while on Thf in between the mandy NM pops but got owned quick. 2 fast waterga 3 and that was it.

I'd always imagined before i got into crafting, that thats exactly how it worked >.O this was back when the game was like 2 years old and i was only level 35 at highest.

Probably not worth the 80,000 GPs but a lot of people have forgotten they exist for some reason. I've pointed them out a couple of time to my crafting friends and some random people.

Id have had that ages ago but Im also a fisher, and spent most of my time GPing that for the apron and ebisu key item.

Only started WWing gp since lv 90ish ,just recently got my gloves.

Now that SE has released these new aprons/gloves I'll probably go for the ring while saving up the synergy stuff for apron, two birds with one stone ^^/

So far we havent found any notable drops from the new zaldon fish aside from a flat shield and eyepatch.

The other fish are only giving up stupid things like seashells and lapis lazulis, though extremely often so we suspect they have some other rewards but much rarer. Considering how most of em take a lot of time and effort to even gather half a dozen, it wil ltake awhile for us to find even one of the potential higher up rewards. If there are any (oh god please)

You can see how our progress has been so far in the last 4-5 pages of the fishing thread. So far its been mostly about the new MMM fishing run though.

These ones are the ones I had focused quite a bit on. Either I'm fairly unlucky or my best guess is that it would be the third in the list (This would also make it a fuck ton more tedious to solo pop as well).

The reason why I ignored the third is because, similar to the 4th, it can be hard to pull depending on your job, but it might make sense that it's the 3rd as well.

This is the way I pictured it. The first 2 are actually on the south side of the wall in the game with the 3 orcs and the treant.

Anyway, Marquis Sabnock can be solo'd NIN/DNC, considering I just did it.

Fight's ridiculously easy. Save up 300% TP, kill the Ahriman, and pull Sabnock to the ledge, so you don't aggro the eye once it repops. It didn't repop until a few minutes after I killed Sabnock, so... its up to you whether you want to pull it all the way back or not.

My evasion gear isn't that shiny, at all. It consists of Ohat, SH, Boxer's, Scouter's, Prf. Gloves, Evasion Torque, and Ungurang. D:

The main obstacle is Quadrastrike, which is easy as fuck to evade. If you use Distance, you can stand 4.3 yalms away from Marquis before it starts to move towards you. Use this as an advantage. Since all Marquis does is use Quadrastrike whenever it has TP, you don't even have to pay attention to your log. As soon as it starts readying a WS, just run away.

It did Quadrastrike a total of 2 times, and the first time was because Uryuu was sending me tells but anyway, GL. 0/3 on this fucker >_> and it took me 5 hours to pop it.
