FFXI New NMs 11/9/09

Has anyone discovered what the spawn conditions are of that hypogryth thing in grauberg yet?

Tethra Battle Strats. 10 minute battle with 14 people. The key to this battle is never ever use Weapon Skills. That's what levels him up. We used a combination of rangers and BLM/NIN to kill him.

He's a total push over, our PLD tanked it /DRK to have more options to keep it's atention. We were never in danger.

That's pretty much the gist of it.

NMs repop right on the 4 hour mark as well. We've been watching since yesterday and they've all repopped right at that mark. There could be a window but we're sticking with that theory for now.

Nommo is a Lou Carcolh. G-6. Staring at it right now.

Thunder 3 did 51 damage and 222 damage. ES Bliz3 did 444 damage which took it from 100-95% which puts it at roughly 9k HP. Has pretty fast movement speed. Immune to bind/grav/sleep as usual per the new NMs. Hit me for 150-350 damage as a 75RDM. Has En-Amnesia on melee. @_@

This one is gonna be a doozy @_@

Agros to sound. Water heals it just like other Lou Carcolhs.

I tried this but everyone else started standing behind me to block my path once they figured out what I was doing, got it to 30% before a nicely timed Quadrastrike took off 800 HP and killed me.

Wow people actually do shit like that? Thats fucked up. Who was it?

I'm gonna go down and camp this NM some more.. Just figured out demon horns are 70k, and I've been throwing them away -.-;... threw away 2 stacks last night trying to pop this thing. Still kicking myself over it.

But I think I may start focusing my attention elsewhere. I really wanna find what drops that Thakhron Breastplate. I thought it'd be that sahagin (which would honestly make sense if it did), but its only reported drop has been Sahagin Gold.

I had a pair of BSTs with Scolopendrid pets standing in my way on my first Centipedal solo so yeah, people still do that. It's a dick move but they do :/

I'm also beginning to suspect that Drumskull spawns off the southern batch of orcs since both stewie and I have spent some time killing the northern ones with no pop so far... Which sucks because it means I'll have to contend with PLD mobs and Resist Sleep :/

100% Positive its a Lotto spawn, Wind weather was present when mine popped but i don't believe its a factor.

We killed maybe, 1 round of placeholders and he spawned... we didn't follow any "its the EAST one" crap, we killed every single hippogryph at the given <pos, theres about 5 or 6, it spawned like i said with about 5 minutes.

No drop of course.

I've been camping Lava/Kusha this entire weekend with a separate TH4 character and myself. I've gone combined about 0/25 on both NMs, and it starts to make you wonder...

Has everyone, who has gotten a Lava or Kusha ring, had sigil on when killing it? Probably has nothing to do with drop rate, but I've seen many people go at least 1/5 or something, but all screenshots posted show that they had sigil on.

Just killed Humbaba as SMN/RNG(Widescan dur). It was Iceday/weather, so i used a Free Shiva... it was rather easy..

if i had to estimate:
Does not aggro 75 players, or did not aggro me.
about 5000~6000HP
Ice spikes were doing 3-10 DMG to Shiva
Ice Roar still did a good 180~200 DMG
took me 4 Rush's (all landing for 1k+) and 3 Melee-til-death for my avatars to kill him.
(Basically, he killed shiva 3 times)
hit shiva for about 58~DMG a swing.
after 30% Either has Regain or very high rate of Store TP, as it spammed Ice Roar every 5-7 Seconds, sometimes one after the other.

thats all i know, 63 EXP, 137 Gil. no drop (surprise)

Oh, Spawned at G-10/11, by the lake past Kirata~ was up when i got there. my guess to the guy who saw him spawn elsewhere, he may have just been aggroed by a noob who died, and he was walking back to his pop?


Edit: Found Skirling Liger! E-6/7, was up on Widescan, omw to it now.
Edit2: Watching the fight between him and Ramuh, roughly 4k HP i guess, no noticed En-Effects, used Roar, Very low accuracy on Ramuh, hit him for about 23~30. only seems to use Roar, used it 4 times now, at a rapid pace past 30%
Edit3: 0exp, 0 Drops, 0/? added to my arsenal.


Edit4: Killed Prankster Maverix too, popped off 1 round of placeholders, was able to take him down with a single Carbuncle + me meleeing. had to estimate 3500~4300HPish. Easy fight really.

Very likely near Graub zone off of the Virulent Peistes. VT to a 75 ; ;.

Update on Nommo:


* Spawns at G-6. Unclear if it is lottery or timed at this point.
* Resistant to Magic Damage. Most t3 nukes on rdm/blm dud 50 damage. ES Bliz3 did 444 damage which took it from 100-95% which puts it at roughly 9k HP.
* Has pretty fast movement speed.
* Immune to bind/grav/sleep as usual per the new NMs.
* Hit me for 150-350 damage / 450+ crit as a 75RDM w/ Phalanx/Terra's Staff/Jelly Ring.
* Additional effect: Amnesia on melee hits. Procs semi-frequently. Was about 4/10~ hits that I noticed it proc give or take.
* Water elemental damge heals it just like other Lou Carcolhs.
* Has very high evasion.
* Gave 283 exp each to a party of 3 75's.

it is GMable
give them one warning to move that they are standing in your way hindering your ability to fight the mob, if they refuse to move, GM it. Its a clear griefing tactic.

Does anyone have any extended information on Erle? Wiki says G-10, I killed every Wasp within 2 full blocks of that. I even road around on a chocobo with APradar showing all, did not find him. Anyone camped him yet?

Camped him last night and this morning, killing every bee near the road in G-10/G-11. No luck.

Just killed Tyrant, its a doll NM in Delkfutt (Been listen) spawns in the room with 3 Chaos Idols.

Its a TIMED Spawn, went afk with all 3 Dolls standing there, came back with all 3 still there and Tyrant in the middle.

Kept me flashed 100% of the fight, the second it wore off he put it back on, that being said i never missed a single hit the entire fight as THF/RNG22(Gimped)... dropped:
