FFXI New NMs 11/9/09

I just noticed this post. What's sad is how it took me 26 kills on Goaftrap to get a drop, all with TH4. Thats not attributed to bad luck, as a lot of people are reporting pathetic drop rates on all these new NM's. That's what's sad.

I'm not expecting 100%, far far from it, but 5% with TH4? cmon, thats pathetically sad.


they would still show up on apradar, as dead, since the weather would have caused them to spawn. Last maint was like 5 days ago, any weather NM's should have spawned atleast once.

I'm not sure about other people but I have gotten 3 sets of the 4 since the update all with TH3 and have yet to go anything over 10 on any particular NM. I've done this w/o bots or apradar.

With that said I don't know how that program works so i'll accept your word on it. I've also just been wondering if we've considered that the DRG body drops off the Formor HNM that uses the Polearm. I do understand that it's a high lv NM for a lv 61 body piece but the HP+60 Neck piece was just found on one and I don't find that a very impressive drop either for the fight.

Buarainech drops the Shrewd Pumps and the Blunt Lance, along with a few synthmats. This follows the same pattern of busted weapon and one decent gear piece from the other Fomors so I think it's safe to say that the Thrakon drops elsewhere.

HP+60 is a best-in slot item by an impressive margin (literally twice as good as the next best), whereas Thrakon Breastplate is more of a leveling/pre-endgame gear item and doesn't really have a place in stronger DRG builds. It wouldn't make any sense.

Still yet to get anything from a new NM, but I haven't camped anything really consistently so my number of attempts isn't high either.

Edit: Just equipped the axe and it gave me STR +1

Impossible, everyone knows AV is farmable now there's no need to secrets.

Also, 0/5 on Grauberg Chigoe, 0/3 on Fenny hat.

I <3 my records so far.. Chigoe had TH3 2 times, Duo'd with another smn the other 3, Fenrir crown NM had TH3 2 times, 1 without.

My bet is that they are going to be like Nyzul weapons which had no purpose until the addition of the Mythic WS / weapon quests; except in this case it will likely have something to do with Synergy (maybe).
