0/5 on Skvader now. Also popped Gloom Eye, no drop.
Lol if it helps. I ran by Barbaric Weapon on bst and threw carrie on it hoping it was a weaker NM, after one attack round I bailed on carrie and ran for Ule Range (was otw too Skvader). He lost hate about a third of the way up the ramp and I Was able to watch him from the cliff overlooking the ramp within spell range.
Magnotaur~
Going by the .DAT list, the 2 Molechs here are the supposed PHs:

I couldn't find the PHs with the modded list cause I was killing the ones by the ramp <_< did a bit of running around and here's the zone:

The 2 PHs roam this area along with 1 Eye, a Kindred SMN, BLM, DRK and WAR. There's enough space to separate the PHs from the Demons (link by sight), but the Demons tend to walk just about everywhere.
Killed PHs for about a hour with no pop, just thought I'd share if anyone feels like trying.
Can't you just toss in a dart in between QD? Thought it only regened if you lost claim.
Is he too baller to just straight tank? Spam whirl of rage or something?
On my server, and probably a lot of servers, they're not camped at all. Don't expect them to be camped heavily, given the 4-hour repops, the fact that there are 5 of these, and the wealth of NM's that HNM shells already have to keep tabs on. HNM shells are also notoriously slow at getting to new content. How many do you know that regularly do SCNM's, for example? How heavily camped are they (Fomor NM's)? Is there usually competition claiming them or can you just meander over and kill without delay? Would really like to get the pet haste hat and the haste shoes, so just trying to figure out what I would need to expect to win.
Best advice for anyone wanting to know "how do I fight these?", "what are these fights like?", etc, is to go fight them.
Not like you have to win on your first try right. It's fun to try new content. I convinced my LS to go do taru last night w/ 11 ppl, but I forgot to translate everything for the JP pld's, so we had an accidental despawn of the taru right after everyone got drawn in. Instead we decided to toy with the mithra. Rough fight.. Survivability wasn't terrible but she still is a frigid bitch. And more important, with only one melee DD, we weren't doing much dmg to get over regen... got to like 95% or less in 10 minutes before we lost a pld and then it went to shit after that. Easier said than done to get people to do the fight but if you can convince people to get off their lazy hineys to go do an NM that takes 5-10 minutes to get to, more power to ya.
To get to taru, it's the south room in Eldeime. You'll see 3 holes you can drop down. IIRC, you want the northmost hole of the 3. Pre-sneak. Run northish down the path and you can see the taru. It won't draw in until you get pretty close (not like CoP minotaur). Best to have the whole ally come with you so you can prepull the nearby (like 10) bombs first. In the case of Mithra, she's the north room. Northmost of the 3 holes in that room. Got to treck a bit north east. Again, bring the ally w/ you and kill the gazer/goblin adds in that room before pulling her. Prolly want to fight her in a lil nook on the NW side of the room. You will have to deal w/ intermittent DC gazers/gobs. But if you try to drag her into the east hall, it seems she draws everyone in and then hits you with a terrible AOE WS, so I don't recommend that.
Someone posted that mithra is stunnable. Would a CS-stun and zerg work, assuming you had someone to backup cure your rdm? Or would intermittent insta-tier4's get through to the rdm and just kill them? Or perfect dodge ruin everything? I guess non-zerg is the best way to go with these NM's, but just throwin that idea out there. And what about Pld subs? Our plds said that next time they would prefer to not sub /nin. Dk if that is the best way to go w/ 2 Pld's. Maybe w/ 3 Pld's, /nin is more viable.
Just to re-iterate, these aren't anything like the new fafnir. Any shell should be able to have a chance to go down and try them, at least for the time-being.
Have soloed Barbaric twice so far as cor/blm, it will deaggro every 50s or so, distance plugin helps a lot for spotting this, quick bio to reaggro (doubles up as a aid to stop it regening) and you are on your way. I would guestimate it at having ~10k hp. 400~ QD took about 4-5% off it.
Havent found the perfect kiting spot yet (i dont like kiting close to spawn when it could go yellow). And i still get hit 4-5 times a fight (usually down to animation lock), but if you keep evokers/dancers up as and when needed and wiz when can, its not that bad. Maybe ~20m to solo on cor, with use of RD > WC > RD.
Tbh a LOT of the nm's added are soloable by cor and all seem to lose aggro really easily. The only nm ive tried to qd kill that hasnt deaggroed a lot is Flockbock (and although i havnt soloed it, im positive a good cor can)
If you have movement speed, short of some ass training 10-20 mobs into your kite path to block you, getting hit by animation lock is the only thing thats going to kill you. Thankfully if you have your macro's set up right, you will blink on at least 90% of shots/rolls, you will still take a hit, but unless you get seriously unlucky, its nothing a good dancers roll cant fix.
All this talk of PH editing kinda has me wishing there was a giant .dat mod for all NM PH new and old.![]()
For the Elvaan. It was our first win and took us roughly 22 minutes to kill. Our PT set ups that best I can remember were, PLDx2, BRDx2, WHM, RDM. RNGx3, BRD, WHM, PLD (was a just in case). SAMx2, MNK, RDM BLM and I cannot recall what the 18th was.
The BLM just spammed Stone the whole fight and he said it worked well. We went through him so fast we didn't have a chance to watch what caused it to level up. I'm pretty sure it only did it once.
All the Front Line Jobs and the BLM subbed Ninja. Grim Halo being absorbed helped a lot. The only danger was when he'd use Temp Shift then Grim Halo after. Even his Penta spam during his two hour didn't hurt us.
rly?

I started kiting after that and I could range aqua cannon rather easily as it would ready even if I was already too far away. It did not draw in until after it stopped spamming(which turned out to be 1 hydro wave then 19 aqua cannons, 20 total ws, maybe always that maybe coincidence) but that may have been a coincidence, needs further testing. I was on BLM/RDM to control adds and stun to stop rotation(though that turned out not to work) so I died anyway once it started drawing in.
Did you stun it while it was readying a TP move or between them?
From the looks of it, you stunned between them. Maybe that's the reason?
They seemed to go off nearly instantly, other poster didn't specify. Next time we'll be bringing RDM RDM BLM SMN so we can try to interrupt with stun and still have a failsafe if it doesn't work.
