I have recast unloaded, but when I talk to the npc to go to Nashmau from aht urgan (ie, the toll collector) windower explodes. Was able to talk to the aht urgan warper in windurst.

As a note, I tested three times, so wasn't something else.

Edit: Lolwtf, the runic portal guy talks to me and displays no text.
Edit2: Apparently many npc's will kill windower in aht urgan. Wtf is going on?

Windower is crashing on me after all the PoL stuff is over and before I can get to the "Choose Character" screen. Just wondering if I am going to have to reinstall windower. Yes I did the update using windower, was late and I forgot to open the non windower version.

Anyone else having the same issue I am? (Talk to npc in aht urgan = crash to desktop) No, its not recast.

I've tried unloading all plug ins, doesn't seem to help.

For reference, I'm on vista 64 bit (no its not UAC, I disabled that).

Edit: Tried the new hook.dll, no longer crashing, but NPC's are spouting random Japanese with m's or <'s mixed in. Somehow my Aht Urgan dats got fucked during this patch.

Edit2: Fixed this by doing file check.

He's in Texas, I'm in California; he has cable, I have DSL; so it isn't an ISP issue.

Doesn't Aikar run the Windower site off his own web server from his house or something? I know it's a Linux box with either Apache or Lighttpd.

Well certainly quite possible Square Enix finally went after Aikar. Not sure if they would have any legal grounds since Windower just reads mostly information that's already available from the memory on your computer. I suppose there are some questionable 3rd party plugins that are disputable. I'm sure the site will be back up sometime today. It's probably nothing.
