so how much are amigo jugs? and is it worth spaming up-words of 10 jugs pets for a fight. This would more then likely make bst the most costly job for end game events, only to deal around(and most of the time less) then blms, schs, smns. who are free outside food.

the price is already high, but now that we can guarantee a 1000 needles i can only imagine its going to rise.

We have to really think about if its worth it. You will be calling more then one I bet in a 20min fight(even more so if you plan to fight DC mobs and you wish to max out dmg)

even at just two pets 40k a fight is sorta a lot. I still think you might do more then that as AoEs could kill pets.

still happy to see that bsts are sorta getting some love that might be worth using in time if SE does just a few more tweeks. Cheaper amigo pets or at the least make them somewhat more easy to get.

What lvl is the scorp pet? could its death sting not be worth it with such high acc and decent dmg?

edit: just looked at wiki no jug pet for scorp >.>? gay

no scorpions, torama, and worst of all, leeches

    fkin love leeches. }(3)

but, ready can guarantee a 1000 needles every 3 minutes. less so if you merit call beast as well (but way expensive), which isnt so bad depending on the situation (ouryu could get a little befuddled what with ziryu poking about, plus beastmasters or main/bst generally go there to charm them)

otherwise im actually pretty surprised to hear it. i still wish i could just use 1000 needles every minute, but i guess 1000 damage regardless of defense can be a little overpowered. I retract what I said about ready earlier, it is pretty awesome in theory. though the lack of baleful gaze is somewhat bullshit imo (if that really is true)

if only FFXI would support macros with if statements and user variables, macroing ready wouldnt be a problem.

Isn't Baleful Gaze resisted 100% when used by charmed lizards, as is?

Doesn't seem like something worth crying over.

not at all, its just that its a gaze attack - and if your in a party a pet rarely ever has hate. ive had plenty of times in solo where my charmed lizard would use it, buying me free punching time.

Price goes hand in hand with availability. The more ppl using Amigo the more likely the price will go up further if the source of cactuar root is only limited to cactuar NM and BCNM drops.

To be honest jugpet has fairly low accuracy against VT+ mobs (around 60%). Debuff moves tend to miss frequently, even when they land the effect is also significantly shorter.

easy fix woudl be to make roots drop off normal mobs even at a low rate.

Still SE wont do that. If they would add some more jugs it be nice.

It seems the Ready and Sic timers are tied together.

Ready charges works like Scholar strategems, each one you use raises the Sic/Ready (same cooldown) by 1 minute and counts down.

If you use Sic on a charmed pet, drop the pet and call a jug, you will have 1 charge on your jug pet. And if you burn 3 charges and drop your jug pet and charm something, you won't be able to sic for 3 minutes.

Hmmm. So it seems like the strategy of dismissing and re-calling a jug pet for more charges wouldn't work, because you'd still be waiting on your charges to refill.

In other words, the reason why jug pets normally have 3 charges when called is because Ready/Sic "charges" are accumulating even when you don't have a pet (like stratagems or Quick Draw charges).

It still shares some of the other properties of Sic too still.
Was playing with a tiger in Giddeus helping someone farm, and found that if you activate Ready, but mob dies then a charge is still used up but TP move doesn't go off.
Also when you press fight on a new mob, it's possible another TP move will go off instead. I had selected Razor Fang, when I used Sic before, but Claw Cyclone went off on the 2nd mob I pressed Fight on after.

I believe charges are also refilled when you change job or subjob (just like all JA timers, aside from 2hours, are reset).

New strat: Show up to Tiamat, 1000 Needles, warp, change job and change back, Nexus Cape to Tiamat, 1000 Needles again.

More realistic strat: Show up to Tiamat, 1000 Needles, warp, change to BLM, Nexus Cape to Tiamat.

Even more realistic strat: Use Nexus Cape to get to Tiamat in the first place because of the competition if you don't.
