Any update on this? i am able to log and play on another PC now and though it was a HDD problem due to that but if your getting that as well is not my hdd

Still crashing everytime i try to log in to my main who is still stuck in the zone from MH to WG, half tempted to resubscribe to XBL tonight so i can try to log on there but i dont feel like sitting through a shitload of updates just to try to zone without crashing... Wait for 6 hours downloading then get to play for 15 minutes... priceless.

You don't need to have a paid XBL subscription to use FFXI, though if that's not what you're referring to, nevermind.

That aside, why don't you try deleting the Whitegate DAT and replacing it with someone else's, or doing a file check? Maybe it's busted.

Almost positive you have to have an xbl account to get on playonline, either that or I am seeing things cuz i tried to log on to playonline and it wouldnt let me without logging into XBL first.

I was getting this error too. I accidentally started the update in windower, went afk, came back to find that error. Tried to redo the update without windower and kept getting the error. Renamed the FFXiMain.dll file so it would download a new one, then it gave me the same error for FFXi.dll so I renamed that too. After they were downloaded again, deleted the renamed ones. Update finally completed after that was done. Then I kept getting an error after I hit play that my computer didn't have the proper specs to play the game. Something about Direct3D. Figured I was going to have to reinstall, then someone told me to try logging in with windower. Works perfectly. I don't know what happened but I can't log in without windower, lol.

So, I kept crashing on Windower without loading any plug-ins at all and just tried loading FFXI normally without Windower, and encountered some messed up stuff with the text. I can't get anything done with the NPC's speaking this alien language to me. Tried getting Runic Portal pass since I have the click confirms memorized, but nothing was going through.

Looks like it is the same thing, in some dialogs i keep getting wrongs texts and alien speak like you say, im glad im not the only one, i hope it gets fixed soon

A friend had to log on my account to unstuck me when that happened, and havent came back to MH since then, im going to check if something weirds happen with Selbina's Moogle

Anyone else getting the blue screen of death when the game loads?
Even without windower, when the game loads, it will say "welcome to seraph" then immediately it's going to the blue screen and says all this stuff about a "Crash dump".

Yes i considered having a friend log me on and move me out of the zone process, hopefully that works idk this is ridiculous, praying for an emergency maintenance while i sleep.

And i was wrong, you can get on FFXI without a xbl gold account my mistake, but dont feel like going through 3 hours of ridiculous sidework to fix something that will hopefully be fixed soonish.

To those of you having the alien speak issues in Aht Urgan (or maybe elsewhere) I had the same problem. I would crash, get mumbo jumbo JP babble, or on the runic portal guy he would display no text and I would get to choose...from a menu of nothing. I posted in the windower site about this problem too.

I fixed this by running check files. It is one of the options in the very first POL menu, before you even log in. I got d/ced halfway through my download, and got a very strange message about a file. I thought nothing of it at the time, thinking it was just me d/cing, but alas something got corrupted.

I had an issue with my PC and viruses and yadda yadda, did the update on FFXI today and basically blew my PC up. Had to do a complete OS Restore and now when I go to the windower home page, it says I don't have permission to access it or some BS... Is there anyway someone can give me a link to download windower that doesn't use windower.net so I can download it again please?

The Windower website is down currently. Don't know if Aikar has relayed any information to anyone or not. Regardless; all the people having problems should really just take the time to do a file check and make sure it is 100% sure that it isn't a file problem. More than likely it could be everyone's .dat mods that are the cause of it all. Just check files and replace those files and reload what .dat mods you use. Obviously Square Enix isn't going to be responsible for your .dat mods Let alone your Windower issues.

I got that error as well last night. Was about to log off anyway, so not that big a deal, but could be troublesome if it happens at the wrong time. It happened when I equipped Cobra Staff and started typing I believe.

So it has something to do with equipping pieces of new gear and possibly one of the plugins. It's not recast because that is disabled. If spellcast is the cause I'm gonna die... unless its fixed really quick like.

I always have had an error when shutting down FFXI with windower. Debugging window or Just-In-Time debugger error messages.

I figured my .dats were the problem since I use ffxi style and whatnot.. Ran my Pol
file check and the only thing it did was replace the stupid pol log-in music I deleted.

My game is crashing as soon as I go into FFXI's full screen... it doesn't seem to be related to any problem listed here. (It isn't the whole infrared thing either.)
