When you speak a date you say it in mm/dd/yyyy not the other way around. Who the hell says "My birthday is the 17th day of November, 1988?(dd/mm/yyy)
Most people just say "My birthday is November 17th, 1988"(mm/dd/yyyy)
On the street when you ask someone the for the date they simply say "Oh today's November 10th 2009." Why go through all the trouble of using the month in possessive form such as "It's the 10th day of November, 2009."
See it takes longer!
