GM Jailed for "Prohibited Activities"

My friend woke up this morning in GM jail, has no idea how he got there >.>. Was this a mistake jailing or otherwise? Also, what is considered "Prohibited Activities"? He only got a Read Me GM telling him he's suspended for doing such things, and that he is unable to call a GM from his account.

Your friend probably found a way to beat AV that couldn't be nerfed and was thus jailed. Has your friend asked why he was jailed? Never been in jail but I'd think you could speak to a GM in there and at least ask why you are being locked.

Read Me GM = Autojailer. He was either pos hacking, or doing something where they will tell you you were "Sending out bad packets." If you get hit in the middle of the night it's almost always an STF thing for packets picked up by the autojailer ;x

That doesn't answer your own question? It's incredibly easy to see when people are using apps for this, it was always that they didn't care not that they couldn't see it if they wanted to.

Use of a third-party program? Your LS is pretty open about using that stuff, I mean it's not like it's a secret.

If he uses logger plugin on windower might be a good idea to see the most recent things before he got jailed.

Someone else in his linkshell already said he was using a widescan bot, from what I can see the problem is that SE can't legally track a bot that solely does client side things without changing ToS. They're concerned that SE has begun doing this, knowing nobody will take legal action or win said case if they do.

WOW. This exact thing happened to my mule who was widescanning for DI/SW, got autojailed. Sec digging up screenshots, I called a GM and they let me out.

I play 2 chars from the same system the other has never gotten jailed for this, only the one I use to widescan DI/SW. Very interesting now.

It was an auto-jailer ban. From this, it's not very likely it's anything to do with his scanning.. that would require someone manually investigating to see that he isn't afk unless they added a new protocol to the auto-jailer to pop up messages to people scanning. Could have been added in yesterday's patch if so.

call a GM and they will most likely start asking him questions about his ISP. they will say he is fine and the autojailer snagged him up because his connection was lagging and it flagged him as position hacking (which i hope he isnt stupid enough to do these days).

he will be released.

I know someone who got auto-jailed before for lagging.

I can say 100% this girl has never used a hack in her entire life, and she had her char hit with the auto-jail. The only thing that happened was she was lagging pretty badly because of her shitty router. I've also heard this happening recently to another friend of mine, even one this morning

The people talking about lag replicating pos hacking are correct, but it's not likely this is what happened to your friend. Position is stored client side, so if you r0 while running it's as if you stood still until your connection came back then instantly warped to where you ran to(you won't even get aggro otw if you manually pull out ethernet or something). The person in question was afk widescanning all night, so most likely not moving at all.. and the auto-jailer is rather fast when those things happen.

My question: @Neoex: Was the person you know of jailed since yesterday's patch for widescanning? Do you know of any other instances that are similar?
