I came into this thread expecting a GM being jailed. I was let down.
Didn't another one of your guys also get banned today? Same story or different reason?
Claim - Midgardsormr - FFXIAH.com
Can you two get the sand out of your vaginas?
Just curious but what was the reasoning for Giffor/Budo/Claim, maybe more getting banned? Was XiP (packet bot) really easy to detect or something? Or all from auto-jailer thing?
so, did he call and see if it was the autojailer getting him for lagging?
or was it for scanzoning while afk?
seems odd that it would happen today, since the past 2 days u cant even use scanzone without deathspots.
Happened to my mule twice while it was standing doing nothing and GM basically apologized, requested my OS information, asked me to check my router and told me that playing on an overclocked computer or running FFXI along with anti-virus programs&download managers may trigger this thing.
Auto-jailer messes up sometimes I guess, if he didn't do anything he should be OK. Misjailings are quite common.
this has happened to 3 of our ls alt's. Each time at khim each time within 2 minutes of pop or 2 minutes of death. But they weren't using anything cause they were always afk on the ledge from being their earlier.
^Seconded.
Regarding GM auto-jail however, yes, the Read Me GM is a result of the auto-jailer.
I had this happen to me a few months ago while in Batallia Downs.
I had just casted Titan, and started running forward to engage a mob, and then immediately got kicked from the server. "Server did not respond" error.
Upon logging back in, I didn't get a LM message or anything, but was immediately able to get back in the game, only to find myself in Mordion Gaol.
Clicked the Read Me NPC after realizing it was an NPC (first time ever seeing it) and I couldn't /check it.
I waited, sent a GM call anyway, despite what the Read Me NPC said and was warped out to another Mordion Gaol to speak to a GM.
As it turns out, and has already been confirmed, lag can cause an auto-jail in strange situations. It hasn't happened but once to me ever and it was a few months ago.
The GM was nice enough to HP me, although I was so frustrated by the whole situation (freaked-out) that I just afk'd at my HP for 2 hours and went to find something to do... The Auto-jailer isn't perfect, but hopefully they get all the kinks worked out.
It is freaky however to find yourself in GM jail when there really isn't a reason to be.
If your grammar didn't suck, I wouldn't have thought this thread was about a GM getting jailed and clicked on it.
wanna trade? ROFL!
