Nah, that's not the problem either.

Update: I plugged everything in at once just to get a feel for the system and all of the LEDs came on, but they're flickering rapidly. That's never happened before. System still not posting.

edit: scratch that, system is turning on with power switch but despite being plugged in right connectors no external LEDs are coming on... LEDs still flickering.

edit #2: also, the LEDs are solid until I press the power switch, then they all start flickering.

Update: Changed out PSU, computer boots up 100% without problems now. Even got rid of the problem I had months ago that I posted about where computer would hang on boot unless I press reset.

I suspect I didn't seat the stock cooler correctly, though, since it shuts off due to high temperatures of 100-102. That's high, right?

Yeah, that's really high. My CPU used to idle at 40C, but I just bought a new MB which gives the cpu more power... idling at 50C

Turns out the stock fan has a chip on the corner of one of the pins. Man, this thing just gets more annoying by the day.

Just wanted to say thanks for everyone's help. My desktop is now fully working again after replacing the fan.
