There are also.. alternative means of getting it that's out now as well.

This is the true sequel to PSO that many fans agree that PSU was not.

It copies over the battle, gear, monster, leveling, mag, and spell system almost identically, while adding some cool new stuff.

The modes are almost identical as well, there is an online multiplayer mode, an online solo mode where you can play alone and carry over your levels to multiplayer, and then, an offline full story driven mode with traditional RPG characters.

I've really been waiting for this ever since PSU came out and was a colossal failure to me, so close to 5 or 6 years. They didn't really hype the game up, but I'm sure there's a lot of PSO fans on here that were excited for this?

Ok, I'm kind of interested in this now. I just assumed it was another PSU type game.

Combat is timed hits again like PSO. But it adds Photon Arts (hold down attack to do a special attack, each weapon type has a few different PA's they can do). Techs are just a single spell for each element now, but like regular attacks you can charge up for a stronger version. It's a total blast to play, I'd say more fun than PSO was personally.

Only complaints I had with the game was no quick-cast menu and the difficulty. Playing HUnewearl you have to basically keep Shifta or Deband on full time to be able to really use them. And when you're only limited to 6 slots it can kind of suck. I usually just ran with the standard 3x attacks, Resta, Fluids and Mates. That and the difficulty was way too low. Blazed straight through all 3 difficulties with no problems at all. Even beat down the last boss without weapons just for fun.

Does the game ever get interesting? First hour has been bland hack-n-slash for the most part in tiny segments of a map (DS limitations).

Got mine today, and I have to say while I like it, the compaints I have is that the character creation options is way too damn weak, character designs are meh at best, and no quick icon swapping makes it a pain when needing to cast spells. If anyone wants to play sometime (currently Lv 11 RAmar), my FC is 1462-6293-0762

Gonna pick this up today before work and proceed to play while @ work (hopefully). Will post friend code later. It sounds tight even with the complaints. I played PSO BB over the summer on one of the private servers, and got addicted to it for about a month, so I'm hoping this game will last a little longer than that.
