Yes, oh fuck yes. You're not allowing them in your place, they're allowing you into theirs.
Doesn't matter to me, I still love them. If you actually care about them, they will return the favor, in their own way.

Yep, thanks to this comment now I know my answer for sure lol.

Don't read the rest if you don't feel like hearing about my cat, I just feel like sharing stuff.

My cat just loves to bite and twist my fingers. Idk why but she does, and I know when she bites them she doesn't actually mean to hurt me even if it does a little, damn nasty pointy teeth xD. Other than that she's the nicest cat in the world and it annoys me that she's stuck alone all day long (the reason I wanted to get her some company). When I get home if I accidently leave her behind even if only to get a drink she meows like i'm an ass that should die for leaving her behind. xD

A few months ago, we found an abondoned kitten crying out near our apartment. We already have 2 cats, sisters we got from a rescue when they were kittnes, who are much older. I was not in the mood for a third cat, but she melted my heart after we brought her back from the vet to make sure she was ok. Honestly, we had more trouble with the dog adjusting to her than the cats. We just let her roam around, and the other two kept their distance. Sure, they would hiss and growl, but never really went after her. It took about 3 weeks or so for everyone to really get along. Now she chases one of them around and they play contantly. The Queen Bitch as we call her will occasionally get in the mood to play with her and chase her around, but generally they just avoid each other, which has its comedic moments.

Really, you should be able to introduce them without too much trouble. From my experineces though, males and females don't get along extremely well.

Gonna echo what a few people said. I've introduced a few kittens to older cats (some pretty tempermental bitches..) and it's always a lil' stressfull, mostly starts off with dirty looks and hissing, but given time they "can" start to like each other. The older cat will have a sense of decency and won't attack the kitten, but that won't stop the kitten from starting shit with the older, which can turn out a smidge nasty><. Your best bet would be to keep them separated but still able to smell each other for a time, and work up from there. Oh and on litter boxes, the more the better, 2-3 would be best so they don't get finicky and try to keep them clean as much as possible for the first month to be safe, then maybe lose one and stick with 2.

The hardest cooperation I had to get was between two kittens in fact, they absolutely hated each other for 2 weeks~ and would fight like HELL. But now, they're nigh inseparable, sleep together/bathe each other/etc. So it's really just a matter of time, as long as your older cat isn't an EXTREMELY tempermental cat that lashes out at any other living animal, you'll be ok.

I urge you to try at least, there's nothing cuter then two cats that love each other living together~

    Edit:

OMG, one of my cats (one of the two kittens in fact) does this to me, it's fucking ADORABLE!!! It's not malicious on her part at all, it's mostly like a suckleing and I let her do it any chance she wants haha.

I'll jump in with my two cats. The second is about 6 months younger then the first, and after introduced, they do play with each other. The one thing you have to remember though is one will attempt to exert dominance over the other. There will be the occasional fight, but so long as the first cat has the temperment, shouldn't be an issue. It just takes a few days to a few months for them to accept each other, unless you get very lucky/unlucky.

    God damn it stop making me come back on my decision lol. Know that the baby cat would come from an animal shelter, I know it'd be better here. I only wish I could have it for like 1 or 2 months see how it goes and if it doesn't work then return it so someone else can get it lol ;_;

I introduced my kitten to the 5 year old cat we have gradually. we got her at 8days old and started the introduction with lying things of hers around the house for him to hate.

we slowly initiated more contact for longer periods until she was big enough to run. then we left her on her own with him. he exercises restraint and shes a bitch. when he gets really agitated with her, he lets her know and she ignores him.

What cats (don’t) do all day

Cats certainly cannot do anything in their normal daily life without a 2nd one to play with.

I actually went through something like this recently. We got 2 cats, sisters, as kittens this spring. They recently started going into heat every month or 2 months, so they're "mature," even if they still act like kittens sometimes. About a month ago I found a stray kitten outside our apartment, caught her, and brought her in. We took her to the vet the very first day and had her checked and got vaccinations, but once home she was locked in our laundry room with her own food, water, and litter box. She was lonely and would cry alot, but we wouldn't let her out until we knew she would use the litter box properly and the older cats had a chance to get used to her.

We kept her separate for a little over a week, only letting the older cats in for a few minutes at a time to interact with her. They never fought, only a little bit of kitten-type play and rough housing. The kitten now has run of the apartment with the other 2 cats, and they get along just fine. The kitten is still very shy of people, but she seems to consider our older 2 cats as mothers/older sisters.

BTW, their names are Faygo & Fanta (the sisters), and Ichigo (the stray)
