Square Enix announces new Lufia game, platforms unknown

We understand Square Enix's desire to branch out, but its latest move is just ... it's incomprehensible. To go from being the world's premier developer of RPGs to creators of shower paraphernalia? It makes no sense, but it's what's happening -- according to a recent Famitsu article, Squeenix is now working on a new Luffa. This is uncharted territory for the company, but we can safely assume that it will be a very high quality Luffa, designed specifically for people with soft skin and outrageously spiky hair.

Update: It's been brought to our attention that the Famitsu article actually reveals that Taito (which Squeenix owns) is working on a new installment in the Lufia franchise (known as Estopolis in Japan), which looks a lot like "Luffa," so you really can't blame us for getting confused. No platforms have been announced, but the team from the original Lufia & the Fortress of Doom will be behind the wheel, so it should be fairly reminiscent of the classic SNES RPGs of yesteryear. Also, it probably won't help you clean yourself in the shower. Sorry about that.

Lufia II still holds some of my most cherished childhood memories for rpg's. Dungeons were fun as shit and puzzles were rewarding as hell. And the ending hit me harder years before the whole Aeris nonsense.

I did, though I got stuck on the Ancient Cave. too bored to go further, but too tempted by blue chests to progress with the story haha. I should really just move on, those weapons make it too easy anyway.

As long as it's a new title in the franchise and not a re-make/retelling of either Lufia 1 or 2. Honestly I still don't know how Lufia: TLR would even be considered a sequel since technically Erim vanished with the rest of the Sinsistrals after the Dual Blade wiped Lufia's memory.

This caught my attention as well. Although Lufia I was a great game, the sequel is by far the better. I really hope they make the battle, dungeon and pretty much everything like Lufia II.

I actually liked TLR. It wasn't near as good as II but I mean compared to Ruins of Lore.... The story was somewhat weak but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

And if this lives up to anywhere near my expectations.....I think I may have to buy new underwear.
