    Hints:

You know two points of line B which is enough to get an equation for it.

You know a point on line A but without a slope you don't know enough for a y=mx+b expression. How can you obtain the slope of this line from the hypothesis given?

Notice that the points on line B are also the points of intersection with the last two lines of the rectangle. Again, how can you figure out their slope values?

    Think of rectangles and reciprocals.

OP needs to respond and tell us if he's solved it or not.

double majoring as an undergrad is stupid and pointless

I'm not sure if I am going to do chaos theory in my major (applied math w/ physics emphasis). I should know since I'm not that far from graduating but I don't pay attention ;(

Some how Electrical Engineers not being on that list strikes me as odd.

That list makes me happy about majoring in Sociology. Pity I don't live in the States though.

Every time they do these studies/surveys, they use different methods and criteria, and end up with different answers. On this one, they only considered 200 jobs total. EE may not have even been considered.

    Here's another one.

Best Jobs in America 2009 - Top 50 - Money Magazine on CNNMoney.com

College professor is number 3, which is what I want to do. I've asked my professors how hard it is to become one. They all keep telling me that because I'm a black guy who does math and science, it will be much easier for me. College is like the one area in life where being black actually benefits you and being a white male puts you at a disadvantage.

Still going to be rough though. Competition is insane these days. One guy in the math department mentioned that when he put up a job opening ad, he got like 500 resumes x_x. So yeah, I'm going to make sure I get the skills need to work in the industry as well, just in case...

    Industry pays way more anyways.

    Well, anyways:

Electirical engineering didn't make this list either.

Minoring is kinda dumb because schools have such varying criteria for what constitutes a minor degree.

Double majoring though, can be good. Especially if you are pairing two fields in your career path- like someone who wants to go into scientific writing could double in english and biology or something like that. These days employers want one person that is able to be versatile. An aerospace engineering company will hire the guy with teh physics and comp sci degree over the guy with just one most times.

Not sure how double majoring is stupid if you're smart about what you choose to do. I'm finishing up majors in Molecular Biology and Mathematics. Follow that with a PhD in Biostatistics or Computational Biology (which I wouldn't get into if I didn't have the double), and I'm going to laugh my way to the bank for a long, long time.

Exactly. My double major is Physics + Computer Science, and the physics portion opens up a lot more opportunities than someone with just one of those. At the very least, it will get me a second look at my application with both of those majors listed. I wouldn't be able to stand coding my entire life for some company that I have no interest in, which is why I wanted to double major with physics (and the fact that my school has a pretty awesome engineering + physics double major system). I'm minoring in Electrical Engineering, mostly because the amount of credits I need for that is exactly the amount of credits I need for my CS technical electives, and those EE classes satisfy said electives. If anything, it'll just look that much better on my resume.

Short version: There are very many reasons for getting both degrees. It sometimes helps on your resume or give you extra skills related to your job. It's also useful for people who aren't quite sure which field they want to get into. It's actually common at my school for people to double major because it doesn't necessarily take more time, money, or effort than one major.

    tl;dr version

    Spoiler: show
In physics, having a degree in math as well helps for obvious reasons. But anyone who's familiar with theoretical physics knows that this is especially true for that particular branch of physics. Anyone who truly wants to go into theoretical physic would be foolish to not double major in math. Since theoretical physics was my original goal, I chose to double major.

Also, when I was in high school, I had been working with a professor who was testing me on a bunch of different subjects and giving me books to read. By the time I reached college, I was already on the level most math majors are when they are in their third or fourth year. So adding a math major didn't add very many extra credits to my requirements.

As a matter of fact, at my school, if you choose to get one degree with two majors on it, it doesn't change your number of credits required or the amount of time it takes to graduate at all whatsoever (I don't know if this is for any two majors or just for two majors under the same college). So it kinda doesn't make sense to NOT double major since it takes the same amount of time, effort, and money as a single major or a single major plus a minor. Especially if your second major is relevant to what you want to do in your career (like a theoretical physicist getting a math degree, or an applied physicist getting an engineering/computer science/applied math degree. A lot of people here pair political science/criminal justice/history [two of those, or sometimes even all three] together).

When I first got to college, I decided to get two seperate diplomas instead of one degree with two degrees listed. That's 32 extra credits, but considering how far I was in math, I was still going to graduate within four years (until personal issues caused me to screw up two years worth of schooling). I'm in a position now where getting two majors (but on the same diploma) and getting a masters degree on top of that wont take me any extra time compared to just one bachelors degree in one subject. Additionally, having a masters in math should make my application look better when I'm applying for grad school in physics. After screwing up an entire years worth of grades, then not going to school for a year, I want every advantage possible, big or small. Also, I love math so much that I'm overjoyed at the opportunity to take these grad level classes that I otherwise wouldn't have had much access to.

And then there's the fact that I'm not even 100% sure which direction I want to go. I'm leaning more towards physics than math, but I've never been absolutely sure about this. I may decided to go the math route, in which cases already having a bachelors and a masters in the subject is going to be beneficial. So now I have more flexibility to change my mind. I've seen grad students who wanted their masters in something they didn't get their bachelors in, and they usually seem to struggle.

And like a few others have mentioned, it does make your resume look better. In some cases, maybe only a little better, but better is better.

Just look at what double majoring does for the money -
if you want the best jobs, you need to go to grad school. grad schools don't care what your major was (most programs) in your other school, you get accepted and choose what you want to do. Most grad students are doing nothing related to their undergrad major at all.
a double majoring undergrad takes on 2x the stress, and most of the time spends another year as an undegrad to finish it, costing more money.

that, and almost all double/triple majors I know make you know it the second you meet them, like doing it somehow makes them smart

If someone is going to grad school, they have to take classes that have prerequisites. In my case, I'd have to take pretty much all the classes before I took the graduate level classes anyways, so I might as well get something out of it.

I loved driving a cab, but I didn't rent a cab from a group that picks up flaggers, and you should never pick up flaggers (people who didn't call the cab dispatcher, and were just flagging you down = the people most likely to rob you).
