Xbox 360 - Can't read FFXI disk? Solution here.

What I read was something like:



Did they say to use /logout instead of /shutdown somewhere and I missed it?

Basically what they're saying is don't let X-box control your exit from the game. That seems to be where the problems arise.

Unfortunately "/shutdown" has a habit of shutting down to a blackscreen instead of the dashboard :/.

Right, so I got my 360 back and it'll run the disc if I use the music trick. Reinstalled PoL and getting POL-12321 (An unexpected error occured. Persistent problems can be reported from service and support). Nice one Microsoft/SE -.-

Holy shit it works, I was so pissed bought a new HD for my 360 and all of a sudden I couldnt install WoG and this shit worked. Thanks

Edit: also I can't install it to the HD now, I normally install all my games to save the disc drive.

Does this work for any 360 game or just FFXI? I don't play FFXI on it, but my 360 has a hard time reading disks. I think it's the magnet that holds the disk in place. So I lay the system on it's side intead of the tower, and just start beating the hell out of it to knock the magnet in place. I continue beating until it starts to read. >_>

It has nothing to do with actually reading the disk/fixing a bad laser. You still have to get it repaired.

It's just a problem with playing POL off the harddrive :/
