    Fios Users

Hi friends. For those of you with FiOS, is your NAT on Xbox Live open? I swear to god, I had it as open a long time ago. But for the life of me I can't get it that way now. I hadn't been on XBL in months, but now that MW2 is out I keep getting those moderate NAT errors and I can't connect with some of my friends online. I'm not a network newb, I've placed the Xbox on the DMZ, forwarded ports, turned uPnP on (and off), set it as a static IP and retried, hooked it up wired and wireless (WPA, WEP, Open, no dice) hard reset the router, basically everything and the kitchen sink with no change in my NAT.

The only thing I haven't tried is bypassing the shit Actiontec router and using one of my own to route traffic... but will that even work? Something on that damn router is blocking XBL traffic even though I have everything under the sun set to let it pass through. Has anyone got their NAT open on FiOS using these shitass routers?

    Thanks

Yeah I tried updating it, but apparently I already have the most recent firmware.

It's possible to put the router into "modem only" mode, and use another router. I don't know specifics, but that's how all my local friends with fios have it setup.

That's what I was suggesting in my second paragraph, but apparently after poking around on forums all day, that doesn't solve the problems either. You need to completely take out the Actiontec router, which I can't do without buying more shit since my house is wired with coax and not ethernet. Argh.
