Definitely darksiders over this. I played a few hours of this tonight, and while I haven't beaten Darksiders either, it just isn't as fun. Feels like a cheap god of war to me. Also some of the checkpoints in the game are ridiculously placed.

Darksiders over dante's, I enjoyed the puzzles and the look of the game a little more, although I really liked dante's as well. I would def at least rent the one you dont choose.

Ordered Darksiders and Dante's. Will be impressed if I like Darksiders more... (I hear it likes to be annoying if you don't use a guide) I generally prefer my first playthrough to be w/o any guides.... but yeah, Dante's Inferno is/was totally worth the money I spent day one. (ps. if you look at the game deal thread I believe you can still pick up darksiders for around 38 shipped w/ $10 future game credit at gamestop)

You dont really need a guide for darksiders at all, just use a little wit and you'll get through it fine.

Wow why do people like this game so much?
Aside of tons of glitches, storyline falls flat, and combat is terrible.
This is an amateur effort at best from EA to make a good third person slasher, if you want to buy something good get Beyonetta. This game is just another 60 bux I wont ever get back.

Actually I thought the game was equally on par with GOW1/2.... seeing as I have not played 3 I can't comment on the newest iteration. We obviously have opposite tastes, as I made it though bayonetta, but I can't say it would make my top 15 games on the ps3 by a long shot.... Also the fact that you spent $60 means you don't really know how to shop around... pretty much every store was selling it for around $55, plus $10 future game credit. The fact that you "never will get the $60 back" also shows you don't know where a gamestop is, or how to list items on amazon. :/

Yeah I just let my friend buy it and borrow it from him. Definitely wouldn't have spent the money on it and I'm glad I didn't. Not bad for a rented game though

GOW had actual puzzles where you had to use your brain, in DI every single so called puzzle is nothing but pushing a block while getting attacked by enemies.
DI has very few enemies and 3 of the bosses are pretty much same thing.
GOW had a great story told with cutscenes while DI has like 2 of those and rest is a lame dialogue with Vergil.
I just think with all the hype it fell completely flat on its ass. Havent seen anything original in this game.
In all honestly I would give this game 1/5 not 3/5 like most reviews not because its not the worst third person game I played but its the worst waste of a great concept.
Virgil tells you about all this people who are in hell but you never run into them. Why couldnt you fight some multiple, cool historic figures. Oh wait, you fight retarded cleopatra, ummm nvm you just fight antony while she watches. Oh and all the people you absolve look the same also.

Something tells me you didnt follow this game at all, or didnt play the demo. The demo pretty much gives you a taste of what the game is all about.

Do do realize that you see those people.... you know... the ones that you push a button next to.... and either stab them in the face, or absolve them.... You obviously did not look at any of the surroundings.... nor have you any concept of what the game was about. No wonder you hate the game so much.

Why does lack of originality make a game horrible? GOW2 basically used very similar puzzles to that of GOW1. If anything I'd say the puzzles in GOW and DI are pretty weak in comparison to Uncharted (if you turn the hints off).

The people you absolve are supposed to look the same, they lose all sense of their original selves in hell, all that remains is that of their souls. Turn on your TV, go to the additional content and read the damn poem.

No one said this game is perfect, but to say it has no quality to it is to say GOW has no quality. The game play mechanics are freaking identical.

i haven't bought a game since gears of war 2 and i wont be starting now.

i rent everything that comes out and i really enjoyed Bayonetta and Darksiders. Didn't mean for my question to start a GOW vs every other game war. I haven't even played GOW since im Xbox onry.

going to rent this or bioshock today, really depends what kind of mood im in with i go to grab either of them. Bioshock is going to be a learning experience because i didnt play the first.

Still have to play ME1 for god's sake. Not to mention fallout is something that i need to get cheevo's in as well. Too many games not enough time.

I wouldn't recommend playing Bioshock 2 without playing Bioshock 1.
The 1st game is better than 2 imo, and if you start with 2 you miss out on a huge portion of the game, which is story and environment.

hmm really that big of a miss if i didnt play the first? i'm really just doing it for the cheevos not really the gameplay. the first one just didnt seem to grab me so didnt feel like i was missing anything.

I'd play the 1st. theres really absolutely no reason not to. and if you like the 1st, then play the second.

I liked Bioshock and Bioshock 2 equally, I love the atmosphere of Rapture. The story is a little stronger in the first one. But the gameplay in the second one is much better. I do agree you need to play the first as well in order to appreciate the second one.

First one was great, I am playing the second one now, so far I am enjoying it.
Atmosphere of the game is definitely unique and a strong point of the game.

I'm sure there's other games to play with easier achievements if you just want more achievements.
