Any suggestions on the final boss' 2nd form on Hard? I watched a video of some guy doing it on normal/easy and he just gets hit in the face over and over and only takes like 5% damage. In Hard, that shit takes like 50% of my health.

patience. Lots and lots of patience.
For starters, dont use your cross attack more then twice in a row or it will backfire and hurt you.
The attack where he sends out 6-ish shockwaves is avoidable by jumpiong over, or you can get out of range of it.
The big attack that does the most harm, is the one when he shoots out the 5 or so projectiles followed by the big fire attack. can't really do anything about that other than perfectly timed dodge.
Just try and keep a bit of distance so you can dodge the projectiles. run in and hit him 3-4 times then back away again.

I really don't know how more helpful I can be on this subject as I started out fighting him on Hard, I ran out of patience and just wanted to be the game so I changed it to easy.
Most I got him down to was about 30% of his hp left, but it took like 20 minutes.
On easy mode I beat him in about 5.

only magic I was using in the fight was that one that gives you the white wing looking stuff. It's useful for healing you and while it's active youre pretty much invincible. Big attacks still hit you, but I suggest going for big attacks when you have it active.

If you can, go back and get your Redemption Meter full and have your magic bar full with the regeneration magic.

The first 50 times I tried killing him I tried to rely on my Cross attacks, wrong move in my opinion. You can easily get in there and hack and slash and learn when he is about to attack. Once you do enough damage to him and he flies in the air you will get a good chunk of life back. Even though it seems like it takes forever, which isn't a bad thing, you will get him low on health and I think the last 20-30% of his life is 5x easier than his first 70-80%.

If you get low on HP pop the HP regenerating magic, should be able to use it 2-3 times if your magic is full. Also if you run out of your regeneration, hopefully all 3 of you redemption cells are full and you are pretty much invincible during this time as well.

Edit: Also, did you go Unholy or Holy first go around? It is a two edged sword with the final boss. If you went Unholy the first form is harder and the second form should be a lot easier. On the other hand if you went Holy the first form should be a cake walk while the second form will be a lot harder.

This game was way too short.. 6:40 on first run and 2:50 on second run. 1000/1000 :/

Also the cross is just broken. Spam B -> Win most non-boss/heretic encounters.

Obviously did not try the hardest mode. Hardly a walk in the park on the final boss that's for damned sure. Fully powered up is the only time I'd even think to attempt the hardest mode... lol

This game was a lot more fun to me once I switched to hard mode. It's a pretty difficult game on Normal I thought (maybe it's just me though, I hadn't played GOW1 or 2) but when I switched over to Hard the game completely changed. It became a lot more strategic and tactical, so much fun!

Makes me want to play GoW1 & 2 before 3 comes out. If I really enjoy DE, will I still like the older God of War games? I really enjoyed the rpg aspect of upgrading my character, so I'm a bit worried I won't love GoW as much.

Edit- I'm with Souj, playing games for achievements is really stupid. Almost as dumb as using the word cheevos and expecting people not to call you a retard.

Yes, but GOW1 is damn short (one of the trophies is beating it in under 4 hours), but yeah the GOW games are pretty amazing when it comes down to it. GOW3 is going to be epic from the pictures they have shown so far.

I don't think most people play games /for/ achievements, however it doesn't mean people like me won't attempt to 100% complete a game before moving on. Honestly I think you get more value from games when it forces you to search and discover all the areas in a game, or kill all of the bosses (even optional ones). Fallout 3 is a good example of extending the play time through such things.

Did you play on easy or some shit? My first playthrough was on normal and was about 13 hours. I really find it hard to believe you ran through the game in under three hours. Normal was pretty easy in itself as well, only boss that gave me a fit was the final boss, since I was unholy and holy has an advantage on the first form.

God of war has an upgrading system as well, via orbs, which they took from onimusha/DMC.

Exactly how I feel about this. Besides most of this shit is stuff I did regularly way before achievements came out; really insane shit like getting the Paladin Shield in FF6, Excalibur II in FF9 or capping exp in every game. Achievements just gives you more incentive to do it.

Kyo: The first run was on normal. Second was on easy mode just going through for coins/relics - got to last save point and called it.

just did my 2nd play through and I'm still missing 4 silver coins, 5 damned, and 5 relics. Think I'm going to need a walkthrough to find all the rest of this stuff.
anyone have any idea how many waves the gates of hell thing has? I'm on wave 17 and I'm still fighting the easy enemies.

    wave31, and I have 13:43 minutes remaining. full hp/mp
fighting 1 Temptress of Lust, 1 Hoarder-Waster and 1 Heratic.
There isn't much challenge to this at all.

Only 50 floors. I finished with 15:36 left. Full hp, 3/4 MP
    floor 50 was 3 Malacoda

DMC4's arena was funner. much more of a challenge. this was nothing. L2+O spam = instawin on just about everything

Now do it on the hardest difficulty! People doing the 50 floors on easy/normal etc, do it on the hardest mode! Don't say a games not a challenge when you play it on easy :/

I will admit the waves were pretty random though. User created content could be good that they are releasing in a month or so.

I assumed there was only 1 difficulty for that mode since it didn't ask what I wanted it set on.
I know in all the other games with these type of arenas only have 1 difficulty for them.
Though I will try it if that's the case.
