LaRon Landry Says Roy Williams Is "Scared"

Washington safety LaRon Landry, for one, has a theory why Roy Williams had zero catches yesterday for only the third time in his career.

As Landry told the Redskins.com blog (via PFT), it's because the wide receiver is hearing footsteps:

"Scared," Landry said flatly. "Yeah. I know he was. Y'all can quote it, too. Y'all can tell him right now, tell him I'm sayin' it. I can say it right now: yeah, he was scared, I think. I told him he was scared."

And what did Williams say when Landry called him scared? "Nothing," Landry said.

(A reporter pointed out that Williams would be here in a few weeks, and Landry chuckled. "I don't care," he said. "What's that gonna do?")

"Certain pass concepts they had," Landry continued, by way of explaining how he knew Williams was scared. "Certain routes he ran, you could tell he didn't want any part of it."

The Kampman injury is not the important part of this - he's simply not a good all-around OLB. He can get -some- pressure with his hand down on obvious passing downs, but he sucks in coverage and is only "OK" stopping the run. Brad Jones will step in just fine for him, as he did two weeks ago when Kampman was out with a concussion. It sucks because his franchise-tag-and-trade value just plummeted, but losing Al Harris is the real loss - it exposes our 0-depth secondary. We have 2 CBs and 2 safeties, period - when any of them are out you might as well put me out there trying to stop receivers.
