You do realize there is more than one method scientists use to measure things like this. I assumed he was following one that gave the perception of shrinkage. good? All I did was go on to say, that even if you use this number, there is nothing alarming about it. Which makes alarmists, well, alarmists.

Personally, I think that whether or not you or I think anything is alarming or not is irrelevant. The facts are the facts, and the fact is that antarctic ice is not increasing, and is actually decreasing. That it is not decreasing fast enough for people to consider it alarming changes very little, there are plenty of other indicators and predictions that AGW makes that are borne out, or not, to varying degrees. Forest/trees etc.

For an honest discussion about the potential effects of climate change to occur, it's essential that we collectively cut through the misinformation. Saying the antarctic ice was increasing is wrong, no other way to put it.

They haven't ever successfully done anything except to steal our liberties! The quickest way to ween us off oil and to develop alternate transportation and technologies can only come about through the free market and free-enterprise. Entreprenuers made all productive technological advances. The State creates nothing and solves nothing.

Since when did consensus and popularism amount to science? This is news to me...for me science is about the Scientific Method. Newton was an outcast in his day, doesn't mean he was wrong.

Secondly, if you take that as temperatures decreasing from 1940 to 1970 and from 2001 to 2009, where is the evidence for Global Warming? The fact is our knowledge of the climate and how it ultimately works is extremely limited. Maybe in 20 years when the Earth hasn't warmed and people aren't dying in droves maybe you'll wake up....maybe, but by then it'll be too late. Liberty lost, is rarely ever gained back.
