    360 Wireless Adapter?

Can a Linksys USB Wireless G adapter be used as a wireless adapter or will I need to buy the 100 dollar one for 360? If not, are there any cheaper alternatives? Don't really have the option to run a wire due to where my 360 is.

    Thanks.

Edit: Should have been more specific. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-126-_-Product is the extra adapter I have.

Don't think you really have a choice, I opted for a 100 FT cat5 cable from monoprice for eight dollars rather than a hundred for the 360 adapter, still haven't ran it under my carpet but I personally can't stand wireless shit outside of my cellphone and wifi outside of my house. ;z

I turned a WRT54G into a receiver using the DDRT software online. I think that router is cheaper than the 360 adapter

Not to mention you don't want a wireless adapter, its a piece of shit. 80% of the time it won't even be recognized by the xbox not to mention that when it does finally get the green light its pretty shotty compared to a direct connection.

I bought this one in summer of '08 and haven't had a single problem with it, ever.

If you've got an N router, pick up a N adapter when it's out (it should be now, not sure), if you absolutely can't run a cable to it.

Most likely what I'll end up getting since it's just plug-and-play for the most part.

My router is a WRT54G2. Running a cable would be from the third floor to a basement, heh.

Thanks for the suggestions and help.

Edit: One more question, sorry. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16874103118 The hard drive is just plug-and-play? Should have just bought the 300 dollar console in the first place.

thats the one I have, its hit or miss. I've browsed all of the forums and it seems to be general consensus that its either going to work flawlessly or less than 30% of the time
