I'm not sure I buy this personally. My thinking is along the lines that everyone is born with greater or less inclination towards that side of the spectrum, and then a vast array of environmental and biological factors determine whether or not it manifests itself and to what extent. That's just a theory, though, I'm not saying you're definitely wrong.

Sure, there is really no 100% proof on what causes homosexuality, your point of view could just as easily be true. The point is, that you still believe that you're just born with that set inclination to one side or the other.

I actually personally believe on something similar to you, but that innate trait is still there. You can give the exact same factors to another person, and if they weren't born that little bit different, it wouldn't magically turn them gay.

Not that the discussion actually interests me, but this actually reminded me of something amusing. Up until the latter years of highschool, I was still dead-set on females, if only because that's what I thought I was supposed to be pursuing. I always knew something was off, but I was so blinded by the fact that being interested in women was the norm, that I didn't even realize I was gay until a very late point in my life. It really just confounds me; that I was actually mentally suppressing my sexuality until that point, because, I mean.. When I see a male I'm attracted to in the present, I'm well aware that I'm attracted to him.

Note: For the people who are going to suggest that I obviously must have been turned gay at that point, please take notice to the fact that I always knew something was off, even at a very early age, I simply didn't know what that something was.

Everyone knows what went down at the AMAs the other night, I thought a little warning prior to JLo's performance would of been nice, cause I don't like straight shit being rammed into my brains right before I go to sleep. I had to go look at some man on man action to erase that shit out of my head man. I was watching eastcoast broadcast, so JLo's live straight sex porn show was not edited.

I didn't see this coming PERIOD, since there were no disclaimers put around the show, or even the intro of her, so don't say, "Oh, don't watch it." I always enjoy the diversity of the AMA's each year since it's usually a precursor to the Grammies (kinda like how the Golden Globes are to the Oscars). But this year's straight people falling on their asses made me pretty pissed man.

There's no need to display flamboyant heterosexuality in a public venue like the American Music Awards. This show's aired on ABC, which is usually a family network. It's a channel that's affiliated with Disney man. BTW I'm white, where I come from (a suburb of Boston), we burn breeders who do shit like this in public. Don't get me wrong, but I can see this affecting her negatively in the future. There's no need to display that shit on a family network like ABC, keep that shit to yourself. You don't see respectable people like Soledad O'Brien, Tina Fey, Alicia Keys doing shit like that on national TV do you??? GTFO JLo...

I grew up in the Protestant faith where we were taught to love and respect everyone, but not straight people. The Bible declares punishment on straights, but you can be forgiven (if you repent), God forgives all his children. Can call me a bible thumper, but I don't care.

Now I know BG has alot of Atheists, but WOW didn't know so many were actually straight too, this thread has revealed a lot, and it also proves my point that straights just love to shove their sexuality into people's faces all the time thinking they are proving a point, when they are really just making themselves look like disturbed fiends who are addicted to sex, and must go to lengths to prove that straight sex should be accepted everywhere. It's possible to be treated, you just have to go to clubs, dance around to Lady Gaga and try hard, girlfriend. Let me give you a little bit of insight:

Homosexuality is innate, you are born that way. Ask any gay person who is comfortable with themselves. You don't really "find out" until puberty starts to happen, but I can assure you I had quite a few gay attractions when I was younger.

Homosexuality is not a mental condition. It was listed as one in the earlier printings of the DSM, because back then, that's what they thought at the time.

this subject is so beat to death, but i've had a lot of teachers who were psychiatrists, counselors, etc. Who all told me out of hundreds of patients they've seen in 90% or more of the cases that they were homosexual they all had the same constants, either an absent father or mother, or sexual abuse when they were children. I (like they all did as well) will not say whether or not that's more than a coincidence or not, but it is something interesting to think about.
