Greetings folks,

As some of you are prone to have noticed we just completed rebooting all of our Aion servers. This on a day we don’t normally perform maintenance. It’s only fair for us to let you know what we’ve been up to and what exactly happened. Over the past week have been working on a list, one that we’ve been checking twice, to track down who has been behaving on our servers and who hasn’t. The servers should now be back online with around 16,000 violating accounts removed from the game. If your account was one of these, please refer to the below FAQ for more information.

1. Why was I banned?

There could be many reasons your account was closed. If you did not receive notification of your violation via e-mail please create a support ticket and the violation will be explained to you. Please note that if your account was closed for the use of 3rd party software (botting) or participating in RMT (gold buying/selling) the evidence for the account closure was gathered over several weeks. It may be completely unrelated to what your character was doing right when your account was closed.

2. … but I wasn’t botting, buying Kinah or spamming advertisements! I’m innocent!

Any action that modifies the client or automates the same way a bot does could potentially flag an account as a violator. We do not use one specific instance to “flag” an account for botting or RMT. We use many instances to strengthen our conclusions. Please understand that it is not what “you” have done on your account, but what the account has done. If your account is shared, purchased, borrowed, or power leveled, it could be the actions of anyone who’s ever used the account.

3. I’m aware of all of the above, but I have never done any of it. Who do I contact?

To request a review, please create a support ticket.

We are taking a very hard stance on this issue and do have sophisticated processes and procedures in place that help us keep unwarranted banning to a minimum. If you believe you’ve been wrongfully banned, you can email us at [email protected], and we will review your account. Our goal is to ensure our legitimate players are having the best game experience possible. Please note that you don’t need to submit multiple tickets, as we will review a specific case only once. We obviously take these violations seriously, but also want to make sure that legitimate players aren’t banned unnecessarily.

Yep, wiped 80% of my LS in one day. Can't say this is the same, but it is however welcomed.

It tooks SE 5+ years before they start banning people...doing it within a few months is a huge step up.

This is welcome news indeed. If it has taken them slightly longer than they originally wanted, because they were being thorough, then fair play to them. It's an emotive issue, and certainly one that you want to get right first time (at least to a decent percentage).

I'm aware of 1 bot being banned on Vaizel from this (that I personally know of), except they missed all of Qin Empire

I've noticed some "regular" bots not in their usual areas... I have still seen bots, but noticeably less than before.

In alsig village/fall road/halabana area, i saw a total of 3 bots today. Compared to 2-3 days ago when there were 40+ roaming around. I giggled.

I stand corrected. A lot of the low/mid level bots/rmt are gone, but high level are there.

Good thing that bot I was reporting damn near every day for the past 2 months finally got banned.

Like someone explained to me its about quantity and not quality.

When someone gets a lot of reports like the mid-level bots where dozens of people report them a day thats the ones who got hit.

The 20 bots in the 45+ area that get 2-3 reports a day didn't make the quota or they logged off for a bit to let their reported status cooldown as some many reports are removed everyday so people don't abuse the system and report non-botters.

meh, looks like the site went down. was an aion bot site with a lot of QQ and /rant at the admins to give the money back, since the poor banned people payed for a "secure" aion bot.

I read on a forum (elitepvpers I think it is?) that Aion now had an algorythm to find out botters, it would parse your movements / your skill chains and then filter out the human/not humans and double check the list every few weeks for mass bans.

Also, apparently GMs got a command to check if someone is using a bot (injection ones; though, some of them are apparently protected against this)

Thanks for the link, it's a chuckle. I can't believe the gaul of some people though. "I am so angry!" It amuses me that they believe they have even the smallest right to be angry.
So tempting to register to their forums, just to say "Hahahahahahahahahaha!".
