It's funny you mention Ivy, because that's all I can think of whenever I see any extendable. It's bad too, because all sins are decked in leather, so... yeah...
brb, making a sin named Ivy

this was posted a little back but just want to answer. The DS to me is by no means a great system, I have fun with some games. Be it ports or a few good games that do not use the touch screen. I do not like the idea and as such do not play games. I am a RPG person and have to give it to the DS they have some decent games. Having a old game on a system is very nice, for my PSP I have FF1-2 and 7(from PSN). there are very few games on the PSP that are new that I like. They are almost all ports or remakes too. only none remakes I have found to like really so are
SO(both)
and the FF fighting one I found fun as well.
For the most part I use both to get my fill of RPGs.
Edit:thanks for that post with the DS games, some games that I might find. Is there a list like that for the PSP? I find myself buying more from the PSN then new games.
lol, so i guess it was confirmed that the "Visions" trailer was exactly that... a vision of what they hope to implement and something that may never actually come about. Or maybe only parts, ect... guess it was a giant marketing trailer lol

I'm sure everything will slowly be implemented, would be insane if they were to release all that in one patch. Expansion would be a lot more believable.
I read that most of it was already complete. But, most of it seems pretty likely/believable, so I'd have no reason to believe it's just marketing. If it was only that, marketing, I think they could come up with a more over-the-top trailer.
Wargolems from L2 = win.
It has been out for several years over on the other side of things, so I'd figure this is just out of the wetwork. My hopes say that they're just finetuning and balancing shit.
Wikipedia for CryEngine 2 says that Aion runs on it [citation needed], so assuming that's true would probably be more evidence they've been at it for a bit. (As it's not 3)
It's probably not 100% marketing, but the timing of it (though the video has been out for a long time? not sure on this) popping up on Aionsource and such points towards good marketing.
I mean how many people just said in this thread "Well I was going to leave Aion, put Aion on hold, etc etc but since I saw this video im totally playing it again!".
It gave a renewed interest in the game. The fucking visual update would be amazing....except for not being able to walk anywhere or see anyone![]()
There's almost certainly a marketing ploy behind it, and a brilliant one at that. However, in my opinion, that makes it more likely to become reality, as now they have set a standard for themselves that they are obligated to achieve.
If they don't provide, they will lose the trust of their player base, which would more than likely have devastating consequences for them.
I also think it will be an expansion.
I think it will be a combination of expansions and updates...although really they are one in the same for NCsoft Korea games. LineageII had tons of chronicles added to it w/o the end user ever having to pay out of pocket...which I fucking love the idea of.
I don't think however that all of that video will come out to the light of day. Player housing I can see, as well as legion vs legion cities raids (Fuck you AoC, where was that shit you promised?!). Swimming would be a very good idea as it could open up a TON of landmass to explore (underwater cities ftw and island masses). Perhaps even the opening of the bottom layer of the abyss where the Balaur Lords and Lephar live. The graphics update I doubt for some time, will take a lot of effort to pull it off and actually have it work and not screw out a ton of users.
Visions of The Future....Not so far off after all?
SourceIn addition to paid account services, we’re working on several updates that will introduce a great deal of new content into Aion in 2010. While these plans are nearly firm, it’s still too early to share all the details with you. We plan on giving you more information early next year.
I`m predicting/hoping for march. Please don`t dash my faith in you NC!
Plastic surgery ticket <3
yes! i want a new hairdo :\
In the current state of the game, the "first quarter" additions of the Plastic Surgery, Name Change and other account services are what I would call far off. Two to three months off on these basic services, one of which (Plastic Surgery) has been part of the base game coding since well before release.
Being coy about the nature of the other gameplay additions can mean anything from small content updates to a fulfilled Visions of the Future timetable. Either way, news about these items coming in 2010, doesnt mean they will actually be here before October or November.
I love the game, but even SE is more upfront about whats going to happen in content patches, and hell ... even about when they are going to be released.
