Not quite that young Ceph. He's 20 I believe he said. So young enough to still treat dating like a 16 year old, but old enough that he should know better.Notice that the kid in that harassment thread was like 16.

Just have sex with another person and you'll get over it. If you are really stuck on a person after a relationship and you've had sex with other people then you're in trouble. It shouldn't be some random person, it should be someone you want to have sex with though, it'll make you realize, 'hey, he/she wasn't that great.' If they really were that great and you lost them, then that sucks.
Stay busy?
All of you guys are talking about sexual relationships and stuff... what about just a friend that you regarded as 'close' but eventually came to realize that friend didn't really care much about you at all?
I mean, I know it sounds like you should be able to just 'get over' the other person... but you know, I haven't been able to.
Maybe it'll happen with time but I doubt it because I've been feeling this way for quite some time and tried to break things off multiple times in the past (and we constantly argue and fight and fall out with each other and then are 'happy' for a little while and shit just kept going in circles) but I felt kinda guilty (I guess) for ending it especially since she said that it really hurt her that I wanted to end things, etc etc. She never did start to treat me like she gave a damn though so recently I just decided 'fuck it', but you know... even though right now I can't think of one good thing to say about her (not that I really want to think of any at this point), I still kind of wish things could work out.
I have a feeling that I'll always care for this girl far more than she ever cared for me but I recognize that being friends is probably not something that we're even able to do anymore...
I honestly wish I could just forget it all at this point.
Also, don't get me wrong... I made my fair share of mistakes in dealing with this friend but honestly most of the things I did were in response to feeling like I didn't mean dick to this girl, which really did turn out to be true unfortunately.
But Domon, the better question is are you texting her at three in the morning about your Super Nintendo? It's rough sometimes man. Sometimes things just don't mesh and will never work no matter how hard you try.
Forgive me as I'm taking certain liberties and reading between the lines, but it sounds like you had a friend you had feelings for and she didn't have them back, and you got hurt over it. Just the way you talk about her makes it sound like someone you're romantically interested in. If I'm right then... just realize that one-way feelings happen, and there's no sense brooding about it. When you find someone who shares your feelings of affection you'll wonder why you were so hung up about the other chick.
All you need to ask yourself is the following. Is it worth cutting her completely out of your life because you can't stand to be looked at as nothing more than a friend? If the answer is yes, then you're making the right call for yourself. In the end you > her.
Pretty much everyone has had this happen, just know you aren't alone and only time will help to get you over it. If you still hang out with them you won't get over it. You need to separate yourself from them somehow or find something else to occupy your interest, otherwise it's a recursive situation. It sounds like the relationship wasn't even that positive. Losing friends always sucks, especially when you don't have many you consider close (I've lost lots of people I considered close).
also inb4 he trolled us but I don't think he trolls sounded genuine and didn't look like copypasta
I won't even lie, that played a part in it for sure... but trust me that wasn't all there was to it.
I think I am a bit radical when it comes to my definition of what a friend is, I don't call someone a friend when we just shoot shit on the internet or play games every once in a while. I mean like, if I have a problem or if I'm excited about something that happened at my job... I'd like for the person to not just blow me off or just tell me "oh, I dont' care" sometimes in those words, sometimes in others. Lots and lots of things happened, there was definitely a time when we were pretty tight but somewhere along the line shit just fell off.
Nah, I ain't trollin at all.
You'll always be my Scully baby.
lol, not you fool
Tincture of time.
I wish Perm would get over me.
Shit happens in reverse too. I've known a couple girls that weren't all that hot but were super fun to kick it with. You can tell the other person is attracted to you, but you just want to be friends. Makes it easy to occasionally do or say mean things to keep them a little at a distance without thinking.
Out of sight, out of mind. I keep zero contact with ex's, whether I dumped him or he dumped me. No facebook, myspace, email, AIM, texts, whatever. Delete/block all that shit.
"You never get over someone you truly cared about" seems like the kind of bullshit I would have said when I was younger. I had a couple of ex's I thought I would never get over, and then I grew up and realized I was an idiot for ever thinking that way.
I've been in an amazing relationship for over 2 years now, & I could really give a rat's ass about any of my ex-bfs. Looking back now, I feel pretty stupid for ever wasting effort on my idiot ex's.
I personally can't understand that. (Though it may be exactly what happened here, and I'm not going to excuse it at all either)
One of my best friends is a girl that I'd never want to get in a sexual relationship with at all, ever.
I mean, she looks decent enough, it's not the looks or anything I just think of her like a sister. She had feelings for me and eventually came out and just told me as much. I let her know how I felt and she was all over me for about 3 years. I never really did anything mean to her to keep her at a distance. I just told her that to me it would feel like dating my sister and I just wasn't comfortable with that and anytime it came up I just kept it at that. Nothing really came of it and we still kick it.
