I don't really like this test, I wasn't really sure how to answer the social questions. I enjoy and am completely comfortable social situations with my friends, but definitely am not that comfortable when around all new people or nobody that I know well, and I think a lot of people are like this. So questions that asked about how you enjoy social situations were a bit hard to answer for.

Either way I got a 9 so whatever, even a few points higher would still be pretty low.

Big question though, does this mean we need to feel pity for Max and not dislike him now? Because after reading his posts in this thread he still annoys the hell out of me, autistic or not.

Max does not seem particularly weird to me either, albeit, he has an incredibly inflated idea of his own specialness, but that's nothing i have not seen before.

    21.

Why are people so relieved to find out that they aren't likely to have asbergers? Do some of you actually believe that a sudden realization of how you socially and mentally interact will influence your behavior lol?

I'm not good at reading into implied meanings.

Actually, I was annoyed with the website for giving deviantart-esque unique little snowflakes a justification for obsessing over fictional characters.
The website is just a fun little test, I am intensely curious about people, particularly people I interact with regularly, like you guys.

    Spoiler: show

~ is partial, * is severe, no marking is unrecognized or weak enough to disregard.
1.Severe impairment in reciprocal social interaction
(at least two of the following)
    (a) inability to interact with peers ~
    (b) lack of desire to interact with peers
    (c) lack of appreciation of social cues *
    (d) socially and emotionally inappropriate behavior *

    2.All-absorbing narrow interest
(at least one of the following)
    (a) exclusion of other activities *
    (b) repetitive adherence *
    (c) more rote than meaning *

    3.Imposition of routines and interests
(at least one of the following)
    (a) on self, in aspects of life *
    (b) on others *

    4.Speech and language problems
(at least three of the following)
    (a) delayed development
    (b) superficially perfect expressive language *
    (c) formal, pedantic language *
    (d) odd prosody, peculiar voice characteristics *
    (e) impairment of comprehension including misinterpretations of literal/implied meanings *

    5.Non-verbal communication problems
(at least one of the following)
    (a) limited use of gestures ~
    (b) clumsy/gauche body language *
    (c) limited facial expression *
    (d) inappropriate expression
    (e) peculiar, stiff gaze *

6.Motor clumsiness: poor performance on neurodevelopmental examination *

But yes, Max, I do think you'd do that because you seem to have this obsession with being special.
Is that how I come across?

I'd prefer to have people I could identify with, not meaning better or worse, just similar in any way. As it is, if you guys are humans, I doubt I am. That's why that one site is called Wrong Planet.

Take the part of that other thread where you tried to say you weren't an atheist because... well honestly I forget what your justification was, but it was obvious the real reason was because being an atheist would be too mundane for you.
It is because being an atheist requires stating something you can not know is true, which is holding a belief, something I lack the ability to do.

I am more like an agnostic, but I have a specific requirement that while a logically consistent god could exist, I have never seen one described in any religious text, discussion, or so forth.

I mentioned to someone else that if you took a real number line, put full belief on the positive end, agnostic at 0, and atheist on the negative end, I can not honestly fit on the line with regards to any major religion.

Perhaps if atheism is a negative number, then I'm the square root of a negative number, an imaginary number. Imaginary Agnostic, if your god wasn't a logically inconsistent imaginary friend, then he could exist.

Edit: I also like how you claim I'm playing doctor. Which one of us is diagnosing himself with a mental condition based on a website again?
It's based on a lifetime of experiences, and a book in the first place.

Again, do I seem normal to you? I don't mean better or worse, I mean literally what I say, can you honestly say you really "get" why I post the batshit stuff I do?

Max, you're just like virtually all the people in the math and physics department here, most of which have no form of autism. You're not particularly weird (especially not by mathematician/physicist standards).

This isn't something you can read about on the internet and take a test about. This is something that can only be diagnosed by a professional. And the diagnosis criteria is largely based on childhood behaviors, which the online test didn't even mention (very obvious flaw there. There's a reason most people are diagnosed during childhood).

Nope, you can even officially call me a retard if you want.

That is the difference between me and the typical "unique butterfly genius who doesn't fit in" diagnosers, I'm not asking for pity, or saying I'm special.

Just hoping it will make it a bit easier to understand me.

Woozie, I only considered the diagnosis because of my childhood behaviors.

I seem a bit more normal now because I've learned how to deal with you guys better, I still have to fake it to some extent.

The interesting thing about labels is, if you label someone who previous did not possess most if not all the characteristics pertaining to said label, they might begin to present the characteristics in question without ever meaning to.

I'm the same in my head as I was when I was 6, as far as I can tell.

I got bigger, I've learned a lot more, but I'm still the same, and I didn't read the diagnosis criteria and go "oh hey, I'm gonna do that and say I have this!"

I read it and went "oh shit, I've been doing that all my life", "that too", "well fuck", "how long have people known about this?", "damn... guess I'm a retard, lolme."

    It got missed apparently.

    Diagnosis Criteria for Asperger's:
The ones I exhibit are marked, ~ is partial, * is severe, no marking is unrecognized or weak enough to disregard.

This is based on my childhood state.

    (a) inability to interact with peers ~
    (b) lack of desire to interact with peers
    (c) lack of appreciation of social cues *
    (d) socially and emotionally inappropriate behavior *

    2.All-absorbing narrow interest
(at least one of the following)
    (a) exclusion of other activities *
    (b) repetitive adherence *
    (c) more rote than meaning *

    3.Imposition of routines and interests
(at least one of the following)
    (a) on self, in aspects of life *
    (b) on others *

    4.Speech and language problems

    (a) delayed development
    (b) superficially perfect expressive language *

Almost pregnant would be the best diagnosis.

Awesome, pee on this and stick it in your usb port...

    or

Wait, you probably meant like, "Did your ass get a lot fatter recently?"

The AQ test thing wasn't where I got this idea from, I learned about it several months ago, and have been studying it. When I discovered the wrongplanet.net forums last night I noticed a couple of them mention an AQ score, so I googled it and found that test, figured it would be neat to see how you guys scored for comparison.

The diagnostic criteria, and sharing childhood traits with diagnosed Aspies finally confirmed it enough for me to self diagnose, they are usually leery of people who self diagnose, but there are certain things that I told them about, and vice versa, that led them to say it's just odd I wasn't diagnosed before.

I wonder if Max would make a topic if his result came back pregnant.

you can't diagnose yourself, how do you know how you acted as a child you have a bias view of it (doesn't matter if you didn't know about asperger's before and still had the same thoughts about your childhood, your view of yourself is too biased).

Maybe you should just go to a psychiatrist and let them tell you?
