This one girl who was about 11, pooped in her diaper. After pealing it off of her in the bathroom, a lot of the poop had stuck to her leg and butt. She realized very quickly that if she jumped around the bathroom, poop would sling around the walls and bathtub.

having autism doesn't make you smarter than other people in some ways. It simply means you have a deficiency of development or coping in a specific category.

autistic savants show an extraordinary aptitude for an ability or skill, like math or visual memory (rain man).

This test was basically either: are you awkward as fuck around people? or do you have a weird fascination with certain things / need to maintain a rigid schedule?

That list you just made max, 3 of those things are exactly me. Incidentally, I scored a 20 on this test because they are asking completely separate things. You don't have to be socially awkward or need to stick to a schedule if you feel any/all of those things - there are levels of autism. I was actually diagnosed with autism when I was 3.5 years old because I was showing no development of motor skills like listening or talking (I had not said a word). A month or so later, everything started and developed normally after that - if not at a more rapid pace as to make up for the lack of previous development.

tl;dr stop thinking autism = social retardation + strong intelligence

Does Autism cause intelligence? Who knows.

Is there a really strong correlation between the two? yes, as I said, as IQ goes up, chance of being autistic rises , past a point it's abnormal not to be.

Autism as the neurological level operates on the fact that (at least) 1 part of your brain is significantly over-powered.

A proper analogy is like a CPU, your brain has a limited number of clock cycles, and if it is spending all it's resources in one area, another area suffers. All autistics are "savants" on some level, actual savantism is when one part is eating so many resources that it practically cripples other aspects of cognitive function.

You are correct that social awkwardness is not necessarily a factor, in-fact it's possible to have autism that strengthens social aspects of your brain, or language centers(*cough...cough*). This type is significantly under-diagnosed because those people tend to be very popular socialable people who would never seek diagnosis because they're not hindered.
