    I didn't like 3 at first, I had actually left off with Dexter at around S3e05 and came back to it when people said how awesome season 4 was. 3 definitely picked up after episode 7 or 8 once things became more clear, as well as a few more emotional moments, surprise ones, throughout the entire season -- definitely don't write off season 3

    Then I marathoned the hell out of it and I'm all caught up, hotdamn it's so good now

    Doakes was such a shitty actor though. That and the whole beefed up on steroids thing really bothered me.

    his character was amazing, and it was awesome having him trail dexter and be suspicious of him since day one. it made for a pretty good season 2.
