The following are national US pager intercepts that cover the September 11 tragedy from 3am on the same day (Tuesday) until 3am the following day.

Due to popular demand we provide a new block of pager data every 5 minutes, synchronized to the actual time of day the message was sent.

This way the world has a chance to objectively see how the tragedy progressed.

A full archive containing all the messages will be released on Thursday November 26 at the conclusion.

Possibly the first automated message regarding WTC. Cantor is a business that was a few floors above where the first plane hit, nobody employed by them in the wtc at the time lived.

Yeah I read a bunch - pretty interesting. Not sure how they leaked, and under just about any other circumstances I'd want my text messages private (and consequently think everyone's text messages should be private), but this event was so extreme, that as a History major, you can't possibly comprehend the value these have to the time period. This was the true first big event in history where mass communication documented these reactions - blogs, youtube, text messages. This is a glimpse at history that is irreplaceable.

The fact that some of the texts note a carbomb is odd.

Probably rumors or people interpreting one of the plane crashes as a car bomb since they're familiar with how the Oklahoma bombing went down. People who are in a panic can say crazy stuff.
